You're absolutely right. And straight to the point too - no nonsense. Man I lose so much time with 'free content' because people are waffling on trying to be entertaining. It ain't free if it costs me my time. Top notch quality all around. Oh and I want this drill.

Nice video! Just a question, how do you know it's perfect on 90 degrees? How precise is this? There is a locking position for 90 degrees? Thanks!
@ebonisto Жыл бұрын
Hi Xavier, if you look at 2:16 in the video you can see that the angles are embossed on the two upright circular pieces sitting on the base. The wing nuts you see on either side are the locking mechanism. The 90° and all the angles are clearly marked with a corresponding line on the drill stand rods to line up the angle. If you're not sure that it's drilling at 90° you could do a test with a dowel and square as I do in the video at around 4:52 in the video.

@@ebonisto Thanks! My question wasn't the most accurate. I understand there is a way to say the angle. My question is how precise it is. Perhaps 1 degree? Less? And how difficult is to set to that precision?
@ebonisto Жыл бұрын
@Xavier Farré Manzorro Hi Xavier, it is very precise, I would say there is less than 0.5 degrees in terms of error. It's very sturdily built so once you have your angle set you can be confident that the angle won't slip or change. Hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any other queries. All the best.

I just found your video. Thank you for presenting this tool! I need to drill through 10cm of construction timber in a 90° angle. I am no bloody diy-newby😅 but I am not confident that I could do this freehand straight. This tool seems to be what I was looking for. Do you have any experience in drilling construction timber with this drill guide? I have a solid Makita without impact and good „chuck-concentricity“, 2,5k rpm and good japanese wood drills. Thank you! And sorry for my bad english😅

Hello, I've had to drill through fenceposts which were about 90mm x 90mm with no problem, should be ok with 100mm timber. Drilling dead plumb is difficult even with a lot of experience. There is nothing wrong with your English by the way. Thanks for watching.

Price 350$, is it worth it? Also how to drill a hole let’s say not in the middle but 1/3 from the edge?
@ebonisto Жыл бұрын
Hello, when working close to the edge, I usually use a scrap piece of wood that is the same thickness as the workpiece and let the part of the drill stand that is overhanging rest on the scrap piece. This keeps the drill stand perfectly even without tipping over the edge. This is a very nicely engineered tool that is made in Japan and is very solidly built with all metal construction. I think it's well worth the price. There are cheaper versions available, but these tend to be smaller and have a lot of plastic components.
