Im happy to have found your channel, i just bought a cymbidium as a rescue but do not know much about orchids, ive watched alot of american vids even when i typed australia 😊 but your vids keep popping up the one with your vid on cymbidium growing ona tree, so i eventualy watch it and didnt know you were Aussie until i watched the second vid, "mounting more orchids in my tree" that i knew you were Aussie. 😊 i have learned alot from your two vids about mounting my orchid on a tree. And enjoy your ramblings and smile along listerning to your advises while talking to your companion. 🤗

@@deet526 ... thank you. "The more I know, the more I know I don't know." That's reality. The problem is when you think you know all there is to know... Some of my tree mounts are surviving, some are doing well and some have not survived. We had a very dry summer last year here in Tasmania and even my dam went dry, so no extra water for anything other than essentials... aka... my greenhouse and shadehouse orchids. Oh well, so it goes. Enjoy your rescue Cymbidium. They're touch as long as they don't get too wet and rot. Talking to an experienced grower yesterday and she had to toss one of her more rare cymbids because of rot. It's not a fool proof hobby unless you're a fool. Cheers

Speciosum? How do your plants handle the cold?

@@michaelmoses7141 ... as long as they're not hit with a frost that settles on them, they'll be fine to perhaps -1° or -2°C. Living on the coast of NW Tasmania, keeps the worst of our winter cold at bay. There's always a risk, but enclosed in the shadehouse (all sides) minimises than risk ! Cheers
