I am from North Kazakhstan... Only once in my life, many years ago, I was lucky to drive by those places... I couldn't breath. It was so stunning. All of that area. Someday I hope to be able to visit there again... I can't wait till that day.

I love the bright orange colours of the desert. It really reminds me of Namibia. That canyon looks so epic! The perfect place to fly the drone. I had no idea they had landscapes like this in Kazakhstan - looks like something from America! The lake looks gorgeous. Just so relaxing and I love how it reflects the forest so perfectly. Holy moly, those dead trees! OK, you've totally convinced me to visit now.
@journalofnomads6 жыл бұрын
You should visit Kazakhstan Ella, you would absolutely love it! It's true that it's very similar to Namibia, your videos reminded us a lot of Kazakhstan actually. We were really surprised to discover all these different ecosystems in this country, when we first arrived we were only expecting flat deserts but it just keeps surprising us.

Wow!!! What an amazing story. Almaty has special place in my heart simply because I was born and grew up there. But during that time I never had a chance to visit either Charyn Canyon or Kolsai lakes. I remember that many many years ago my older bother during his middle school years together with his classmates and some school teachers did few day hike around Kolsai lakes. It was late 80's and the only memories of that adventure were few black and white photos. Thank you for creating and sharing this amazing video and bringing back so many great memories and I will definitely show it to my brother. We will try to visit this region next time in Almaty.

So jealous, Kazakhstan has some beautiful landscapes. The valley of castles at sunrise was stunning! I'm curious (if you don't mind me asking) how did you manage to become nomadic? It is something that we are both looking to do but don't know how to get started. We would love to work freelance so we can continuously travel :)
@journalofnomads7 жыл бұрын
We've both been travelling for many years already, I (Niko) travelled for the last 10 years and Cynthia travelled for 6 years already.It's only in the last 2 years that we started working online and now it enables us to travel very comfortably without stopping to work here and there in different countries. A good place to start is by teaching English online.
