Many say that the recovery boiler is the heart of the pulp mill - if the boiler shuts down, the full production line shuts down. This is why a long-term perspective in maintenance planning is crucial. We offer a systematic way of preparing for an annual shutdown where safety always comes first. We plan, execute, manage, and develop maintenance activities according to our customers’ needs to minimize downtime, maximize safety and minimize risks. The target is getting a cold and clean boiler in the shortest possible time to be able to start the maintenance works.
In this video you get to make a visit to a bi-annual shutdown, “a big-stop”, performed at Södra Cell Mönsterås in Sweden.
Södra Cell Mönsterås is one of the world’s most modern and high-tech pulp mills with an annual capacity of 750,000 tonnes of pine and hardwood pulp. They are also a producer of green electricity and a supplier growing within biofuels, such as biomethanol.
