Hello from Germany, came by the way of Cass Piper Cassidy and think I will drop a sub right after hitting the comment-button here :-) Nice Vauen pipe. I have quite a few in my rotation (alongside of many other pipemakers). And your pronounciation is spot on! If you don't already know the origin of the name, here's my humble two cents on it. Vauen is the abbreviation of the full name of the company: "VAUEN Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken Nürnberg GmbH" in the way that the "V" is from Vereinigte Pfeifenfabriken (united pipe factories) and the "N" from Nürnberg (Nuremberg). And why Vauen? Well, the german pronounciation of the two letters "V" and "N" is Vau En. If you talk quick enough, it melts into a new word "Vauen".
