Hi, enjoy your outdoor vid’s down to earth. Reference having a cold/flu, my remedy that works for me ,is sachet of lemsip ,honey,sugar and brandy. Mix together Well. Then I open windows in bedroom and sweet the bug out, under the quilt. Always works for me, I prefer the blackcurrant lemsip. Hope both have quick recovery.

Hey guys, I cook up a large saucepan of water, add about 10 to 20 cloves, a sliced apple, the peel of a orange (use a potato peeler to get it off the orange, cinnamon stick or two, a really big squeeze of honey, a lemon cut into four, some fresh pine (few sprigs off a tree) then simmer to reduce by roughly a third to infuse everything. Allow to cool slightly before drinking or put it in a flask minus the bits. Should last you a few days if you do a good amount and gets stronger each day. Seems to work for us every time.

plenty of comfort food and hydrate with beverage of your choice. I like a margarita as the lime juice helps prevent scurvy.....lots of rest too. an ' emergency bong station ' ! very thoughtful of someone... Bugs...we still have them too... but soon they will be un-alive...

Boot wise, hi Tec summits from go outdoors are great, 2mm thick anfibio leather outers, sympatex membrane and stiff mid sole and grippy out sole, I'm on my second pair in 7 years! Use Scarpa silicone wax on them.dont let the brand name put you off, they're hi tecs top of the range and made in the same factory as Scarpa Terra's in Romania 👍🏻

Boots wise, hiking boots from aldi or lidl, around £19, waterproof, good grip, comfortable and last a fairly long time. Not leather.

It's not the bath test they fail on, it's the actual walking and flexing of the membrane and it failing after a few months. Weirdly they all pass the bath test at the beginning.

I DON'T recommend this but a friend always drank a full bottle of scotch then slept it off. Cold/ flu gone! It seemed to work lol My dad always says orange juice hot water, pepper and aspirin. Didn't get rid of cold but got rid of symptoms.

Vitamin c in the morning 10000 iu vitamin D at dinner time and another vitamin c at teatime done that for 2 years no cold coughs or any illness at all but before I used to get coughs colds and illnesses

Cracking video guys, you had me crying with laughter. You joked about sweating your cold out Gareth, but that is my go to remedy. Heating on full, under a thick quilt on the sofa. Normally almost gone in 24 hours. Regarding your pack weight, I'd just accept it as you know if you leave anything behind, you'll just fill the void with more alcohol 🤣

Not tried them out in the cold yet but the fit is ok and they seem well made. My old Amazon soft shells have knackered pocket zips so needed to replace them. The decathlon stuff is usually pretty good though.

Yeah I think the quality has slipped recently so if you have an old pair keep hold of them. Altbergs is another option. Gareths been through lots of water in his and they never a drop in. Just don't want to spend £250 and be back to square 1 in 6 months time 😭

Change into dry socks when you get to camp and put bread bags over socks to keep them dry in the wet boots. I heard if this from Haze outdoors.

Yup, always carry bags for this reason from day 1 👍 Didn't get it from Haze though, just common sense innit
