For me, the man is guilty..if the house was broken into and someone killed ur wife who was sleeping beside you on the same bed and u didn't wake up to see something.. I believe she must have screamed or struggle and all this did not wake u from sleep to see the killer, then he must be lying.. if the woman killed herself, the murder weapon surely will be close by.. the police should take it from there..

Many questions to ask: 1) Was any blood stained sharp object found in the room? If yes, it could be that the woman killed herself or someone else did it. : her husband or an intruder. Finger print analysis will resolve that. 2) Is the window of the room they slept in on the ground floor, and the bed close to the windows? Were the windows opened as they slept without any barrier, such as burglary proof and mosquito net? Was there damage to the burglary proof or the window net? Could they have opened the windows of the room they slept in this cold harmattan season? These questions are to rule out the possibility of someone standing by the window to use a long sword to do the stabbing. 3) Was there any burglary of the windows and the doors? If none, then, the possibility of an outsider doing it, after question number 2 has been ruled out is nil. 4) If the possibility of an intruder doing it has been overuled, then, there is no other legitimate suspect other than the husband. Even, if it is proven that an outsider was the one that did it, in the circumstances of the case, the husband carries a moral burden of explaining that he did not send the assailant(s). May God separate us from evil.

Good analysis. But how can he not hear a sound from someone next to you on the bed being stabbed!? No way she did not scream in pain when stabbed, was he on drugs or sleeping tablets? This has always been the case with our Police force. They don't know how to investigate a crime scene properly. First and foremost, the apartment should have been closed for anyone to enter freely until the investigation is concluded, like taking finger prints, searching for the weapon used etc. I hope the truth will come out soon. There's a possibility that he did without him knowing. A sleepwalker person could commit a crime without realising. He / She would think it's happening in their dream. A similar incident happened in the UK where a man in his 70s strangled his wife to death, he actually denied killing his wife until his medical records shows that he has the history of sleep walking and he killed his wife but not deliberately

Exactly what am thinking too. I once had a bed mate that had sleep disorder, she talk very loud in her sleep and when she end up having arguments or fight in her dream she start to act it in real and at that moment if there is any object there she start using it to fight. I will watch her doing all this things and when she wakes up, she has no idea, and she can't remember her dream. One night She hit me on my head very hard with an object and held my skin like she was going to tear it apart, she kept dragging my skin very hard, when i manage to pull myself out of the bed. I tried to wake her up but she didn't wake. I told her what she did to me but she didn't remeber. That was the last day we shared bed. Me while i had serious headache for days. She could have killed me in her sleep, if i was the kind of person that sleep very deep. But in this very case what happened to the weapon if he did it? Is it also possible for him to sleep walk and clear the evidence? Or he is just playing smart

If she did stab herself,the weapon she used should not be very far from sight nd she should have been bleeding before she went to bed,cause I don’t think she went to bed nd then woke up to stab herself and dispose the weapon before coming back to bed cause she would have left a trail of blood,she would have been grunting in pain e.t.c nd one had to be a very deep sleeper for them not to notice that someone might have snuck into their house in the middle of the night to kill someone nd if she was struck while in bed by someone she would shout out no matter her deep her sleep was. He drug that lady before they went to bed, and when she was far asleep, and he stab her in one of the most delicate part of the neck that can lead to instant death. If he was innocent, at least the first thing he should have done was to close and apply pressure with cloths on that very sport the blood was gushing out, at the same time scream for help and your naigbours will still come. Instead he left her to struggle, meanwhile wasted a little time and pretend to call neighbors. The motive is simple.. He is tired of been with a dedicated hard working woman who is very focus and knows her self worth, he knew that he can't mess around and at the same time he can't afford to divorce her because he will loss a lot, so he masterminded this evil act so that he will kill her and be free to misbehave.

My opinion What if this is an homicides case and he committed it during parasomnias episodes which is a sleep disorder, and when he wake up to see what he has done he decided to play smart. Because he is scared of what is going to happen to him. I think a proper investigation should be done on this. Find out if he has sleep disorder. I use to have a bed mate back then that does unspeakable things in her sleep and when she wakes up she can swear with her life that she didn't. Another thought what if he did it and hide the weapon and waited for her to bleed out till the point that he knows she can't survive before going to call the nabours. It's just an opinion not a conclusion. He might still be innocent

Motive never has to proven or even shown in court because in a lot of cases the motive for killing are never found out because motive rarely leaves any physical evidence... So lack of motive should never be an issue for not bringing someone in on murder charges or getting justice for the victim(s) and their families and loved ones...
