A very special Matt Risinger throw back episode and Special Announcement - UnBuild It Podcast #98

We have a big announcement this week as we return to our first time having Matt Risinger on the podcast.

One big reason architecture and building channels get attention is when the viewers feel that the hosts care about what they think and respond to a comment. I mean, if we're going to take the time to watch the video and ask pertinent questions about their work, make suggestions or provide links to additional information about the topic then it's nice to get a reply. Brent Hull, part of the Matt Risinger website, responds to almost all comments to his videos. Steve does a pretty good job, Jake couldn't be bothered.

Ryan, Jake Bruton here. I wanted to take a moment and say thank you for watching and consuming the content we are trying to provide to the industry. My appologies if you feel I never respond to comments, I almost never do. Rarely does anyone bring them to my attention. I would remind you that outside of being a father of three, I own a small business, I create at least one video a week for Build Show Network, attempt to post insightful content on IG of which I try to monitor the comments, and generate twice monthly podcast content, this is a very busy life. No disrespect. I truly have very little time left. Others have more time to respond than I do.

Hi Jake, thanks for replying. I can certainly understand how busy people can be and how it's impossible for a host to reply to every comment. However, your KZbin channel is also a part of your business. It brings attention to you, your company and your work and if people ask a pertinent question about a part of your video I had hopes that you would take a moment to answer it. I think of this in the same way as if I emailed your company directly or called your office and left a message asking for information and nobody ever called back. Perhaps someone in your company could monitor your channel and bring pertinent questions to your attention? I do think the information you provide is valuable and I have certainly enjoyed learning from your videos. I have also taken the time to promote your KZbin channel on other channels and websites and I think it's unfortunate that it is not more widely known or viewed.

@@jake.bruton.aarow.building Jake, I would suggest you all promote answering questions for only first 24 hours of the shows posting and hold yourself to it. What that does is drive people to watch the videos ASAP instead of delayed and gives you content creators that clear break from responsibility of responding. Trust me. When you are making more from social media then building houses you will thank me. You all have something special with this Build Science education path the team is on across social media channels.
