It’s a symbiotic relationship relationship. If the few smart ones weren’t controlling the many dumb ones the party wouldn’t be able to exist and function

ya forgot the FACTS The Bidens’ Influence Peddling Timeline Since taking the gavel in January, the Committee on Oversight and Accountability has accelerated its investigation of the Biden family’s domestic and international business practices to determine whether the Biden family has been targeted by foreign actors, President Biden is compromised, and our national security is threatened. Records obtained through the Committee’s subpoenas to date reveal that the Bidens and their associates have received over $20 million in payments from foreign entities. Below is a timeline that details key dates in our investigation. The main points of interest are: 1) Romania: On September 28, 2015, Vice President Biden welcomed Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to the White House. Within five weeks of this meeting, a Romanian businessman involved with a high-profile corruption prosecution in Romania, Gabriel Popoviciu, began depositing a Biden associate’s bank account, which ultimately made their way into Biden family accounts. Popoviciu made sixteen of the seventeen payments, totaling over $3 million, to the Biden associate account while Joe Biden was Vice President. Biden family accounts ultimately received approximately $1.038 million. The total amount from Romania to the Biden family and their associates is over $3 million. 2) China- CEFC: On March 1, 2017-less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office-State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to a Biden associate’s account. This is the same bank account used in the above “Romania” section. After the Chinese company wired the Biden associate account the $3 million, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,692 over a three-month period in different bank accounts. Additionally, the CEFC Chairman gives Hunter Biden a diamond worth $80,000. Lastly, CEFC creates a joint venture with the Bidens in the summer of 2017. The timeline lays out the “WhatsApp” messages and subsequent wires from the Chinese to the Bidens of $100,000 and $5 million. The total amount from China, specifically with CEFC and their related entities, to the Biden family and their associates is over $8 million. 3) China- Bohai Harvest RST Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd. (BHR): More information will be provided in our upcoming Fourth Bank Memorandum. 4) Kazakhstan: On April 22, 2014, Kenes Rakishev, a Kazakhstani oligarch used his Singaporean entity, Novatus Holdings, to wire one of Hunter Biden’s Rosemont Seneca entities $142,300. The very next day-April 23, 2014-the Rosemont Seneca entity transferred the exact same amount of money to a car dealership for a car for Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden and Devon Archer would represent Burisma in Kazakhstan in May/June of 2014 as the company attempted to broker a three-way deal among Burisma, the Kazakhstan government, and a Chinese state-owned energy company. 5) Ukraine: Devon Archer joined the Burisma board of directors in spring of 2014 and was joined by Hunter Biden shortly thereafter. Hunter Biden joined the company as counsel, but after a meeting with Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky in Lake Como, Italy, was elevated to the board of directors in the spring of 2014. Both Biden and Archer were each paid $1 million per year for their positions on the board of directors. In December 2015, after a Burisma board of directors meeting, Zlochevsky and Hunter Biden “called D.C.” in the wake of mounting pressures the company was facing. Zlochevsky was later charged with bribing Ukrainian officials with $6 million in an attempt to delay or drop the investigation into his company. The total amount from Ukraine to the Biden family and their associates is $6.5 million. 6) Russia: On February 14, 2014, a Russian oligarch and Russia’s richest woman, Yelena Baturina, wired a Rosemont Seneca entity $3.5 million. On March 11, 2014, the wire was split up: $750,000 was transferred to Devon Archer, and the remainder was sent to Rosemont Seneca Bohai, a company Devon Archer and Hunter Biden split equally. In spring of 2014, Yelena Baturina joined Hunter Biden and Devon Archer to share a meal with then-Vice President Biden at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. The total amount from Russia to the Biden family and their associates is $3.5 million. SOURCE, OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

The good thing is that it made me notice that after 30+ years in the Republican party, I was voting against my best interests and the interests of key family, community, State and Nation. I have quite a bit to atone for. At least five people used to look to me for advice on State and local elections. I will never support Moscow Mitch again or any other Republican without Gods intervention. The hypocrisy and anti-Christian behavior is now on full display. A family friend who got addicted to painkillers and later fentanyl needed professional help; and I spent a day driving him and his mother across the state to a rehab/detox facility. It had taken them months to find a place that would accept him, and it was the closest one in the state (NY). On the way back his mother said "... and if the Democrats get their way this election..." and I had to stop her. "Hang on a second," I said, "Don't you realize that if the Democrats had 'had their way,' your son would already be in rehab in your town, and you wouldn't have spent the last six months struggling with this? That he would have seen drug counselors and gotten methadone and most of the suffering you went through last year would *never* have happened?" She had no answer. All she could think about was gun rights and immigrants. The GOP has people totally suckered, and it seems that not even seeing your child slowly eaten away by drug addiction can break the spell. At least we live in NY, and *neither* of our votes matters.

This is a point I often make. The GOP didn't just hit a wall with Trump. it has been in a downward spiral for decades. First it was the Southern Strategy of opposing civil and voting rights of blacks to win the votes of Southern conservatives in the 1960's. Then it was the rise of the reactionary religious right in the 1980's. Then in the 2010's the GOP coopted the Tea Party movement to attract disaffected marginalized whites who blame their plight on advances of women and minorities. Then the GOP became the ReTrumplican party because they need the votes of low information voters. The GOP has clung to power by appealing to the worst instincts of the worst Americans and now they are scraping the barrel for the worst of the worst. Reagan's dog whistle racism paved the way for Trump's blatant racism.

@@seththomas9105all four of those presidents would be considered liberal or progressive today (of course Roosevelt was a literal progressive straight out of the progressive era). That Republican Party started dying by the Civil Rights era. There is no modern Republican coalition that invites liberals or progressives (certainly not like the Democratic Party which does include some moderate conservatives in its coalition). The modern Republican coalition is either MAGA, moderate MAGA, some niche moderate libertarians, and pushed toward the very fringe and slowly being outcasted out; the Mitt Romney-style RINO conservative archetype that were once the standard of the party and now considered not far right enough. The modern Republican Party is a joke, and if you’re not a Trump-style NPC right winger there is no room for your ideas in the party. Say what you want about the modern Democratic Party but their coalition actually has ideological diversity. You have the more far left social democrats like Bernie Sanders and AOC, you have moderate Obama/Bill Clinton type Democrats, total wildcards like Fetterman, and you even have conservatives like Joe Manchin who closely resemble Reagan-era type Republicans and in many cases even former Republicans who didn’t so much shift ideologically but were outcasted for not following the MAGA wing off the right end of the cliff into authoritarianism.

Her and my step dad always blamed their problems on the "white man" instead of what it really was. She married a man that had zero drive and chose to stay that course. As a result of growing up hard once I graduated high school in 86 I ran away from home so to speak by joining the Marine Corps. Hell, I’m not some smart person, just (I’d like to think) moderately intelligent, but knowing issues aren’t simple, and having just the smallest amount of “mind your own business” sense and compassion eliminates half of the silliness we see the GOP pushing as policy. He also was sometimes verbally abusive and sometimes made inappropriate jokes to his employees at times. In conversation with him, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with him as a person, but with slogans, catchwords, and the like that have taken possession of him. He is under a spell, blinded, misused, and abused in his very being. Having thus become a mindless tool, the stupid person will also be capable of any evil and at the same time incapable of seeing that it is evil. This is where the danger of diabolical misuse lurks, for it is this that can once and for all destroy human beings." He wrote this 1942.

"intellectual" people do not reproduce enough to replace themselves. The vast majority of people that do tend to be of average intelligence. Since people harp on about the values of democracy, then society is going to bend to the majority, which is uneducated Americans. If you want a society that is ruled by the educated, then you would need to go back to an aristocracy. Which would be ironic, considering that both sides complain about the rich and educated elite that buy off politicians, to shape society from their perspective. Yes, there seems to be some merit in what he is saying. My brother can’t read so he listens to the right wing conservative republican social media. He repeats what they say word from word and that makes him feel intelligent. He even advised me one day to read a book from Mark Levine saying that it was really good and I would like it. I didn’t have the heart to ask him if he had read it because I know he can’t read. We used to argue over politics. I would tell him something that Trump said or did and he would deny it accusing me of getting it off the fake news like CNN or MSNBC. Even when I said that it came from Trump himself, he wouldn’t believe it. He showed up at my home one day after the last election and told me point blank that he wanted his opinion to be respected. I told him I could do that. We haven’t spoken since. That was three years ago. I my self was a Republican for 40 years. I couldn’t stand seeing where the Republican Party was going so at the age of 58 I became an independent. I’ve never voted for Trump and never will. I voted for Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and now it will be Kamala Harris. I don’t consider my self an intelligent person. I did go college and earned a degree in environmental science. I am an avid book reader on several different subjects such as science, politics and history. I try in make an informed decision based on all the information presented not just on one side. Why women or men with wife and daughters would vote for the party that wants to dictate and monitor their bodies? My ex-wife has a masters in English. I asked her if I was wrong that I found The Catcher In The Rye unreadable. She said, no, that it is pretty much unreadable. What Trump reminds me of is Holden Caulfield, in the way he speaks, his vocabulary, with things seemingly coming from a young teen boy from the 1950s. Using "dumb" and "stupid" aren't just Trump catering to the uneducated, it's how he actually speaks, it's the level of language he knows. Simplistic thoughts, simplistic words. I do believe this video about his IQ being 73. It makes perfect sense.

Maybe your ex-wife was being nice, agreeing with you. I don't know. "The Catcher" is entirely readable. It's not a bunch of hard words, and/or surreal circumstances. *What you make of it is the key.* Perhaps by "unreadable" you mean you didn't know what to make of it. That's okay. A lot of people don't. Salinger was interviewed about this confusion, and he basically shrugged. It's an old story, partially published in serial form in 1945-46 before being novelized in 1951. So it wasn't really written for our current culture. You have to adapt to it; it won't adapt to you: This is true of a lot of books. I don't mean this to be a dig.

Critical Thinking is defined as - the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment. Ironically, your statement criticizes others for lacking critical thinking, yet fails to apply it within its own construction. Allow me to point out where your own critical thinking skills dismally fall short. Contradiction: You acknowledge that "not every MAGA is a simpleton," implying some level of complexity or intelligence among individuals in the group. However, the second half of your statement - "I have NEVER encountered one that was capable of critical thinking" - completely contradicts this. If no one in the group demonstrates critical thinking, how can the first part even hold true? It shows you are more interested in dismissing groups of people wholesale than engaging in nuanced analysis. Shame on you! Moving right along, we come to the second point; Personal Experience as Universal - You make a broad sweeping claim that you've "never encountered" a MAGA supporter capable of critical thinking, but this is purely based on their personal experience. Using personal encounters to make broad generalizations about an entire group is a classic logical fallacy - specifically, a hasty generalization. Critical thinking requires the recognition that individual experiences don't necessarily reflect broader truths. Oh dear, I think we are starting to see a pattern forming here. Thirdly, and not without its own merit brings us to, yes you know it, that favorite form of *cough* critical thinking often used by those who suffer from The Dunning-Kruger effect (if you don't know what that is I suggest you spend a few moments of your boisterous yet stunningly uninformed life to learn about it), CIRCULAR REASONING. You seem to imply that if someone supports MAGA, they must lack critical thinking, thus reinforcing a predetermined bias rather than examining the evidence objectively. This is known as circular reasoning - assuming the conclusion (that no MAGA supporters are critical thinkers) as a premise to dismiss them. That simply isn't how critical thinking works. A more thoughtful critique would require engagement with actual arguments, ideas, and behaviors, rather than relying on blanket assertions based on anecdotal evidence. @DebKC-bj9jo May you have the very day you so richly deserve!

I wouldn't call MAGA voters stupid. A bigger case can be made that they are weak minded and are easily influenced especially when they are searching for something missing in their lives. My son-in-law's sister is a classic example of this. She has always been a follower of others. She is extremely intelligent and was on an academic scholarship to a prestigious university. As a teenager she dabbled in the occult and devil worship. Now as young woman in her twenties, she has "found religion" with the help of her boyfriend who is now her husband. They read the bible and pray endlessly to Jesus. They are so sure in their believes that they can't understand why everyone else can't see what they have found for themselves. With MAGA voters it's just a different church.

@@blando7786 I don't necessarily think it's irrelevant. Do you intend to vote out of curiosity? There must be a lesser of two evils between the two. I'm not yet decided but am leaning towards Trump. In democratic adherents and politicians I see flippant inconsistency in arguments, and plenty of blatant lies. They seem just as if not more manipulative than their counterpart. This exists amongst republicans as well, though it seems to me that they don't go back on their word quite as often. What concerns me is the vision of stifling a liberal population which is common among republican adherents; they do not know the definition of "nuance". Both sides, as far as I can tell, are equally as inconsistent in their views. A desire for what they view as "justice" only against those they dislike. Venting aside, I guess I am asking for input in regards to who you would vote for, if anyone, and why.
