Tom: The Rock Fire Reflector makes allot of sense. Looks good and will provide more heat radiation than the wooden reflector. Rock gets hot and stays hot longer. Nice work, as always. The chair looks great and fits right into camp very well. I have a large Carabou hide from a Bull Carabou I shot about 20 years ago. It's extremely warm in winter. A chair fit for a "King"!!!!!! Very nice leather pouch and clever not having to stich it together. It's cooling down here in Pennsylvania and the weather is perfect for camping and hiking. I also do some Blacksmithing talent and it's finally cool enough to light my forge without suffering heat stroke. Great video, as always Tom. Best Wishes to you and your family. Charlie

Tom, you look like a very happy king sitting in that chair! The stitchless pouch is a very cool project! I'm going to give it a try. A tip I learned from a local man who constructs amazing free standing inukshuk and other natural stone statues is to use small stones (pea sized wedges seem the most used) to wedge in and bind the larger stones so they don't move. He does some amazing, gravity and physics defying creations using the technique. You could easily build the reflector wall to the same height and have a stable, flat inside face rather than a pyramid shape.
@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sean for sharing this information with me 👍🏻😁 I believe that’s a great way to make it stable and rough 💪🏻 I don’t want to make it higher because I want to film from that new position behind the fireplace … but can you the advice anyhow 🙏🏻😊. Another great video Tom. Trying to stack up stones is very difficult at times. If you have an area with a lot of flat stones it is not so bad. But when they are round it is a pain. Looks like you got it done anyways. Nice work. Wonder how many people were inspired to make that pouch. Great tutorial! I like the improved throne. Good to see you again. ATB, Mike

The chair looks great Tom! We did some tree trimming at our house on a silver maple tree. So I have lots of branches to cut into poles. I’m not wasting good maple. Going to make the cooking setup as well.

Beautiful work with the chair and the pouch. I was very glad to see you smoking pipes and gladder that you linked to the churchwarden and the tobacco. :) I have not tried any Orlick yet as tobacco is expensive and not much variety is available here in New Zealand. But after watching this, I have decided I need a churchwarden in my life for those times I am relaxing in the bush. Which I will have to do more often now. :) haha

Thanks Spiro ( is that your name ?) for your wonderful comment 👍🏻😁. And I can easily understand that you can’t live without that pipe It’s so smooth and relaxing to sit by the fire 🔥 and smoking a good pipe of tobacco 😀👌🏻 Please let me know how it goes 💪🏻😎 and all the best to you my New Zealand 🇳🇿 friend 🏕🌤🦌🔥🇩🇰 Tom

Hi Tom, yes, it seems that you have made a king' s chair (Raknar, as sample?). It is really very nice. About split of stones, particulary I wold have done it a little bit higher because it can reflects the heat much betther I think. And concerning your lether case, I only can say that you are a leather master, it is nice and original at all. A good modification with cristal stones. I am goin to try one for me own because I like leather work a lot, and I have done some shealts for knives too. Nice to see you again and enjoy your videa my friend. Greetings from Madrid

Thank you so much Miguel for a wonderful feedback 👍🏻😁 I’m glad you like my new “king” chair and I can easily understand your recommendation about the fireplace wall 💪🏻😊 But one of the reasons I lowered it down was because I want to film more from the angle behind the wall 🤔 Perhaps I’ll put a couple of stones on top if I can see some issues with it as it is now 😊👌🏻 Atb 🏕🌤 Tom
