Great Big Story

Great Big Story

4 жыл бұрын

Suspended 650 feet in the air between towering sandstone rocks, the Bastei Bridge is a Victorian era engineering marvel. Built in 1851, it offers stunning panoramic views of Saxon Switzerland National Park. Which isn’t in Switzerland, by the way, but in Saxony, Germany. The journey to this stone span overlooking the Elbe River is as gorgeous as the view. Visitors climb a series of steps-487 to be exact-to reach the scenic platform.

Pravčická brana the stone bridge in Narnia, is not in the Bastei bridge region. It is technically in the Czech Republic near the border at the Bohemian Switzerland. It is however part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains which partly include the Bastei Bridge. I was in both places in 2016. A must visit.

@maximussieger1488
@maximussieger1488 4 жыл бұрын
Doesn't change the fact that tourism is still booming in Saxony. And: saxons are not racist, most of them just don't want let Saxony becoming a multicultural shithole like Berlin or the Ruhr area where germans are the minority or becoming slowly one. In Hamburg for example, more than 50% of all newborn children have no german background... and most of them are muslims. Even our migrant loving leftist elite is sending their children to schools outside of Berlin, and guess what: Those schools are not as diverse as you would think.
@MrIcaru5
@MrIcaru5 4 жыл бұрын
@@maximussieger1488 i completely agree with you. But it doesn't justify their rudeness towards non German (which includes tourist). I was studying in Niedersachsen for three years and people were super nice, so I went to Saxon with mindset that German people are nice, but it's so different.
