The 80's rocked. I saw Duran Duran perform live about 10 years ago and they were amazing. What a talented bunch of musicians.

marvin hemsworth, people who tease you or anybody don't understand what real Music is! they don't have that real taste of Music that we people have!! They must be crazy for today's shitty, creepy, meaningless music! I also had been listening these kinda Music from my childhood and still enjoy and will be for my whole life! Just Look still there are 817 likes! and only 19 dislikes! So never mind my friend, these fabulous, meaningful Musics are timeless! So just don't care them and let's keep good music always up!!..
@abhikmookerji13886 жыл бұрын
marvin hemsworth, don't worry people tease u coz they don't understand what real music is! I and many also enjoy this kind of old music!!..
What is interesting about this period is that they had lost some of their commercial appeal after taking a break and line up changes, but musically, this album (notorious) and the next (big thing) were some of their best stuff and they were musically much more accomplished. Probably eased off on the drugs!
@mgparis3 жыл бұрын
I totally agree - Notorious is my all-time fave DD album, and the rest of their career is criminally underrated Stay safe all DD fans!

Sounds like Le Bon is still struggling a little with the higher notes in this song by this point but not as bad as a few years before this at Live Aid. I've heard him in the past 4 years and it seems like he can do this song even better nowadays than back then. That's funny, eh? But really, JOHN TAYLOR RULES THIS SONG! AMAZING!

@eiowens He left Duran Duran in 1985 due to exhaustion. He came back in 2001. Though he did play drums on a couple of songs on their 1995 covers album Thank You and can be seen in the video for Perfect day.

@TheSunnyGirl83 they haven't - line up changes, reforming and breaking of the original line up etc, but they are still going now, except for Andy Taylor, who is a frustrated rocker!
@nascargas15 жыл бұрын
I enjoyed this version. Of course, Live versus Studio is purley subjective. I heard Joe Perry interviewed recently who said that live versions are more what the artist had in mind after listening back to the studio work. On stage they try things they wish they had thought of in the studio, but were in too much of a hurry to get out. They have had time to rethink arrangements, phrasings and lyrics... But again...subjective...

Wow...you know, I always thought of them as a big hair-80s rock group but to be honest they seemed pretty tame compared to other bands of the era. Nothing meant against them...I love their music, it's just the image in my head was not the same as what I just saw lol.
