@@Ben-yj8yeI'm not. RRHOF is a bullshit list that only a handful of people actually control that don't base their decisions on criteria like actual talent and musical influence/success. The fact that U2 got in in the early 2000s and artists like RUSH, Journey, Stevie Nicks, etc only got in within the last decade should be all the evidence anyone needs. Many artists have been critical of this during their acceptance speeches. If I were up for one I'd probably pull a Maynard James Keenan and just not show up, lol.

I believe we have John to thank for this: the story goes that he met Barbara Broccoli at a party while tipsy and, being a huge Bond fan, suggested that Duran do the theme song for one of the films. The rest is history!
@Szczaqu3 жыл бұрын
He approached Albert Broccoli and said "When are you going to get someone decent to do one of your theme songs?". Big words for a guy that will soon fade into obscurity.
@erinfraise61543 жыл бұрын
@@Szczaqu LOL You're not a bass player, are you? He's hardly faded into obscurity, dude. And considering this is the most successful Bond theme ever, I'd say his "big words" were pretty freaking accurate.

Nice story. I was actually living in Paris at the time this film was released. I am from Bath. I spent a lot of time visiting friends who lived all over Paris and there was the odd moment jumping over the turnstiles in the metro, which kind of added to the excitement and the atmnospherics. Ah, the joys and folly of youth.

@@tappetmanifolds7024 That's pretty cool! I'm still waiting to get there myself: was planning to go last year, and of course that didn't happen. Hopefully I'll make it over next year! 🤞
