One thing I'm curious about regarding Sylux having two Metroids following him involves the lore introduced in Dread. Samus has Thoha DNA, and the Thoha were the Chozo who could control Metroids. It wouldn't be unreasonable to conclude that the Baby Metroid's imprinting on Samus wasn't simply a behavior that newly-hatched Metroids would show to anyone, but in fact had to do with her Thoha DNA. If that's true, then Metroids imprinting on Sylux might suggest that he actually has some sort of connection to the Chozo... This is especially interesting, because unlike the other Hunters characters, his species was never specified.

It's the homeworld for the specific Urtraghian race, who are the dominant species of the greater Space Pirate alliance, and the Federation seizing that planet dealt a deathblow to the Pirates as a military force. For a real world perspective, it would be like if an enemy was fighting NATO and the USA was destroyed: NATO itself would still exist in all the other remaining extant countries, but its most powerful fighting force would be gone.

@@AICW Maybe, though it's been described as "one of the Pirate Homeworlds" akin to Zebes and I guess by comparison, the "Zebesian" Pirate race. But we know that Zebes was not even the "Zebesian" birthworld, just like how Urtraghus is equally not their birthworld, but a world they conquered. It also wasn't a death blow either, considering the Pirates are still very much present in Federation Force and still an active threat, same now goes with Beyond, and to an extent, Super Metroid. About those Metroids. Based on appearance they are not *real* Metroids, but something else that is called Mochtroids or something and are the first Metroids that were cloned by the Pirates. However they are weaker than the normal Metroids and deemed a failure. Mochtroids had only 1 nucleus and not the usual 3 that normal Metroids have. They first appeared in Super Metroid, which I think is Metroid 2, if I'm not mistaken. That would mean that Prime 4 is still set between Metroid 1 and Metroid 2 and most likely the final Prime game. About your assessment beginning at 7:02 that the Pirates had been defeated after Prime 3. I don't think the Pirate Homewolrd in Prime 3 was their only world. Going to go out on a limb and say that whatever Silux is up to is going to be the cause of the Federation declaring genocide against the Metroids in Metroid II. This may be our last chance to fight Metroids in a Metroid game that isn't a remake, as well as get a new Ridley boss fight. Regarding Silux's alliance with the space pirates, he may have seen them as useful and picked them up. They do voluntarily follow a powerful leader. I thought the planet at the end was Talon IV. At least it looks like it to me, and it has the musical cues.

Not saying theyre tied together but the new logo image they replaced the screw attack with does look similar to Luminoth tech. Considering how their tech and the light suit look it is possible that the "new" race might not be new at all. Considering the Chozo were close allies and trade partners with the Luminoth it wouldnt be out of the realm of possibility that the Luminoth had another colony. Furthermore its stated in Prime 1s manual that the Chozo disappeared from the galaxy this is also further confirmed by Metroid Dread. Maybe the Chozo or several other alien species left the primary galaxy and founded new colonies leading to the Gfed and Samus trying to or accidentally locating them hence the beyond subtitle.

Crack Theory: The planet we see Samus fighting on, and the lush planet we see her in after, are the same planet, and it's Cyclosis. Here me out on this. In the opening cinematic for Metroid Prime Hunters, we see Sylux fighting Federation Marines on a misty, barren planet that appears mountainous with gray rock. This planet isn't specifically named but the same cinematic lists Sylux's homeworld as "Cyclosis". At the start of the trailer, we see Samus fight a team of space pirates lead by Sylux, on a misty, barren planet with gray rock. In the background of one scene, an unarmored researcher is quickly carting away what appears to be some sort of special technology. Crucially however, after the encounter with Sylux, and the game's name drope, we see Samus enter a lush, green area full of vegetation, and appears rather mountainous. Behind Samus is what appears to be some kind of glowing orb. I believe that this green, lush area is Cyclosis, but in the past. Samus may have used the technology that the scientist was running with to achieve time-travel. The Federation expanded to the planet and strip-mined the planet or did some other thing to it that caused it to become barren and lifeless. This would perfectly explain Sylux's hatred for the Federation: they destroyed his home, and since the Galactic Federation is a collection of factions and government bureaucracies all linked together, there was no one person or group he could direct his fury at, so he has turned to dismantling the Federation entirely. In 2015, series producer Kensuke Tanabe was interviewed about possibilities for future games. He said a Prime 4 would probably be set on one planet with a time-shifting mechanic. He also stated Sylux would be an important character so this has legs to stand on. On top of this, the game's logo resembles a black hole with its singularity visible in the center, so much so that it's probably intentional. Singularities are the only known objects in the universe that can totally disrupt space-time. Has the Galactic Federation developed a technology to create and control singularities?

Out of pocket theory? This mysterious bounty hunter is a dark reflection of Samus. Whereas she was traumatized by space pirates and raised by Chozo, he was traumatized by the federation and followed a similar but darker path.

Interesting. We already know from Prime 3 that there has been at least one large-scale rebellion against the Federation called the Horus Rebellion mentioned by NPCs on the Olympus. There are some cut logs from the game showing the conflict was so intense the Federation lost at least one carrier strike group during this incident.

My theory is that Sylux is actually Samus' brother. Her brother seemingly survived in the original manga but since then we have had no idea about it. He could hate the federation due to the fact that they often want samus to eliminate threats only to use those threats as weapons for their own use (metroid cloning in fusion). Also side note, the metroids behind Sylux actually look like mochtroids, being they only have 1 red nucleus instead of 3
@TotalMilesPS4 ай бұрын
Looking at Samus' HUD, the bottom left shows the missile launcher selected as her secondary weapon, while the actual missile counter is on the bottom right. There are 3 empty slots on the left. Might hint at other "secondary" weaponry options besides missiles. Since super missiles have always been the charge combo for the regular missile, these empty slots could be other types of new weapons. I doubt it's for different beams, like in the previous game. It wouldn't make sense to show them together with the missile launcher, unless selecting a different beam makes her unable to use missiles.

He hates the federation for not coming to their rescue and hates Samus for abandoning him and working with the federation. I know his canon status is VERY debatable as he was only mentioned in a source material for prime a long time ago and hasn’t been mentioned since but i think it is possible if unlikely. Either way Sylux is going to be a very cool and interesting “new” humanoid rival to Samus.
@FireFury1904 ай бұрын
I'm honestly all on this theory. With the amount of mystery behind him it'd be disappointing if he's some random person with a deep connection to Samus that never knew about before hand given he has hatred towards her and the federation. I actually didn't know about Solomon and thought about the long lost brother thing since it's an story easy twist. But given how he's hardly ever been mentioned it would make the twist be all the most shocking and still fit with pre-established material despite it's obscurity. Plus most of Samus' biggest adversaries have some familial ties to her.

@PBJA89 The original Nintendo Power article says he was missing and presumed dead. That's enough wiggle room to retcon him into the story. Saying he did survive but he was never actually found. Unlike Samus. Which is a good enough reason to hate Samus and the federation since they never found him.
