@@mizzouranger134 It´s just absolute hilarious how bad prisoner a treated in the US and i would be against extraditing any of our citizens to you as i don´t think there basic human rights should be violated even when they are criminals. While this situation is just ridiculous as for this people this is the only possibility to get at least a little bit money in a not prohibited way while there prison "jobs" are so badly payed it´s a simple joke and get´s them less in a month than MC Donald's would pay in a day. Sure this is a rather funny part of the US prison system and not even a massive issue but the situation is still rather messed up and has also has somewhat of a Colosseum flair to it. While i also heard prisoners say they simply won´t get enough to eat while the quality is so bad you hear also about insects in the food also need money to buy overpriced food in the prison shop. Besides the most important thing is that the US prison system seems just to be on of the worst working inside the western world when you look at any stats. From having like 10 times the drug deaths per person then we in Germany to insane differences in rehabilitation rates and general prison population per person. Whit a far more human system we pay less for as we for example rather threat than punish drug addiction hoping somehow they will get more socially integrated when you pay them to let them be attacked by a bull. It´s sure some great entertainment but i don´t get how people are rehabilitated, maybe when you cripple them for live so they can´t commit any crimes but that´s just a bit medieval.

To all the people commenting "Poor Animals" I say this... These Bulls, Horses, Calves, and whatever else they use for this show, are some of the most Spoiled animals in the country. They get to live in animal luxury and only work for about 10 seconds or less, then go back to being spoiled. Oh no, they have to support the weight of a 200 lb person on their back... Guess what, They're a 2500 pound animal. They probably barely feel a difference. Grow up a little and realize that animals in captivity like this, are the owner's livelihoods and therefore are not going to abuse them.

I had actually really enjoyed this report, but one part made me mad. And I am honestly confused why Sunday Morning would allow such ignorance because this seems to be a fairly pleasant program. The warden is quoted saying "corrections means correcting his deviant behavior...not torture and torment." As someone who is majoring in criminal justice and pursuing a career in the field I understand this fully. That these people did do something bad worth punishable, but doesn't mean they are bad people. Yeah some probably are, and most likely all of them deserve to be there. But just because they're prisoners doesn't mean they aren't people, don't enjoy human interaction, and that's where a comment from a lady at 5:50 really offended me. She says "Have somebody actually talk to them as if they're human again" and then she smiles about it like she thought that was a great thing to say. As if they're actually human again. Wow. The ignorance of some people blows me away, and I just couldn't believe I heard that on this program, because I feel like that one comment ruined the whole story.

Livestock are balm to a mans soul. Prison Rodeos were started in Rawlins, Wyoming and there was real talent within those walls! They also grew their own foods, milked cows and had chickens. For many a real cowboy, it was their saving grace. Don't know if they still do it or not as they have moved and upgraded the prison there. But, I knew men who came to work at the ranch who were good men, and great cow and horse hands. I totally support the prison rodeos of that time period (1950's and 1960's). I dare you to go to a wild bull and tell him how much you love and care for him and how sorry you are for the way people have treated them for decades. Pet him on his head and give him a hug.

Its not abuse if you think animals are getting hurt here your a tree hugger! They actually enjoy hurting people. And I've rodeoed forever and I'm a barrel racer my horse enjoys running barrels so deal with the people that actually love rodeoing.😤😤😤👿
