It's open for the Summer season each year which is from June-September.It is also open for a short time during the Winter season which is the month of December.If you check the Fintown Railway Facebook page you will be able to find out more information Karan.

great video and journey and what a bad day. when was it first opened and where does it travel to and why does that only have one carriage at the back and how long was the journey and how did u get into there and lastly will this reopen forever along with the others?

Thanks a lot for your Comment Liam!😃.The Fintown Railway was reopened on the 3rd of June 1995 as a tourist attraction.There is a small section of line relayed and it runs from the former Train Station at Fintown towards Glenties running along side Lough Finn.It only has one Railcar No.18 because that's all they can get at the minute to run the visitor trains.And also there is usually only enough tourists to fill Railcar No.18 and sometimes it's only half full.The journey took about 45-50 minutes.There is a little platform that I show in one of my shots that is used to board and alight the Railcar No.18.I'm not sure when there will be talks had to open any railway lines in Co.Donegal?.For the forseable future I think the Fintown Railway Fintown Co.Donegal will be the only one!.
