The over dubbing made us chuckle.😁 Thank you for that. It's certainly changed since 1972!

Wow, some of those engines are HUGE! I love the old trains, like old cars, they had so much character, unlike the bland trains now. I used to love traveling on the trains with corridors and compartments that would seat about 8 or 10 people, and you could close the doors for a little privacy. We have our holidays in Dorset, and often go on the Swanage heritage railway to Corfe for a cream tea! Thanks for taking us along.

@@thomashambly3718 isn't that the home of Bentley Motor Cars? Formerly RR & Bentley Motor cars? A Merlin engine factory in WWII? Once a huge self autonomous Railway Works & a town community. Argueably, at it's hieght possibly one of the largest railway junctions in Europe? Alas, now with a mediocre railway works site & town bearing no resemblance of it's former glory like so many others?😒

Super vlog and the Railway Museum brings back so many memories! I think we will be heading to visit there again next year 😊 I’m surprised York isn’t more dog friendly such a shame ... We were pleasantly surprised how dog friendly Europe was when we were there in September, even took him on the vaporetto into Venice he loved it! 👍

I've visited there too, loved it. As you said, there's loads to see and you can spend hours looking around the place at the exhibits. Your overdub at the very end was well done..lol.

What a great place 👍🏻 another brilliant video, this is on our ‘ to visit’ list. I think we would stay well away from York though. Not a city person 👍🏻

Thanks, we aren't city people either! Handy for pubs etc though.

What a great museum to visit. I was last in York some 40-odd years ago. York is on my list of places to visit in 2019, Rowntree Park does't really appeal to me I fancy York Caravan Park which is just a short bus ride out of the city centre. Plenty of places to visit. I am really lookig forward to visit there son.

Robert Crouch Try Naburn Lock, great site. Catch the river boat into York (drops you next to the Castle Museum).

Thank you Steve Chandler for your reply. That sounds a great place to stop, complete with a river boat into city centre. I will certainly enquire about it. Thanks again.

Why don't you go to Crewe Heritage Park, it's small but you can go in the signal boxes and there's a viewing point and it's next door to Crewe railway station. It's really good, I've been there

I need to go there. When I worked in York, I was close to the NRM (my work at the time WAS connected with the railway). Didn't you see Sir Nigel Gresley there? It is of the same class as Mallard (LNER A4) and is being restored to working order. I once saw it pass through Leeds railway station and I managed to get some footage on my phone. You can see the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6DKeKSoZrp2hc0

What's with that busted-up car park? The world's best railway museum deserves better. Makes you imagine when these engines were everywhere. Trainspotting must have been quite engaging then.
