Not been to that one, interesting. Not just British cars there though.

We need campsites like that with plenty of hedges and trees. It'll help reduce all these storms if people would stop cutting down our green countryside!

I always look out for a Morris Oxford when you visit vintage car museums, but sadly I haven't seen one yet. It was my Dads car. He bought it in 56/57 and it was the new version with the fins on the back. I remember the real red leather bench seats and the offset steering wheel which was angled towards the drivers door. It had a chrome ring which went all around the inside of the steering wheel and was the hooter. He still had it when I passed my driving test in the 70s and I actually got to drive it myself.
@BobEarnshawMoHoКүн бұрын
Very similar to Jenny's dad's Wolseley 15/60 and Austin Cambridge, which are at Drive Dad's Car. Have a look on the Drive Dad's Car website.
@mpawsКүн бұрын
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I looked at the video on the website and they do have a Morris Oxford like his in the museum. It's nice to know they have one as I don't think there are many about anymore. I know the Hindustan Ambassador in India was based on the Morris series III but the interior is nothing like the original. Thanks for suggesting I look.
@travelswithbilbo752614 сағат бұрын
The Morris Oxford was my first car back in the ‘70s. I paid £100 for it, just don’t polish the seats or you will end up on the other side of the car on a corner.

Have been watching your videos to so many sites around the UK and beyond and until this one I had no idea you lived in Letchworth. I was born there and lived there until I was 18 until I went off to College to train as a teacher in 1966 (ex-Letchworth Grammar School). Well, well, well.

We lived in Letchworth for 24 years until 2014. Jenny’s mum and dad moved there in the 1980s.

Hiya. We were watching some of your old videos today. Just to say - we always know what we're getting and we love it. Helen mentioned on a video that the CAMHC has a section "Before You Go" to check out before arrival. Well, I always check out...Have Bob and Helen Been There 🤣 because we always, always, watch your "approach roads" as we have a large twin-axle wide caravan, so we want to see the approach roads!! @BobEarnshawMoHo3 күн бұрын
I mainly go to the NEC to film motorhomes, which I generally do early in the morning so I can get away and edit into videos by the afternoon, so if you see me we can have a chat, but there will be plenty of talks at the show about motorhoming. Do you have any specific questions I can answer here?

02:00 in the morning on an empty motorway in Derbyshire somewhere, got clocked at 60 in a variable 50. I was offered the speed awareness rather than points, I took the points. When I learnt to drive my instructor always said, "use speed appropriately". Driving 50 on an empty 3 lane carriageway is simply there as a revenue collection and has zip to do with safety. Our roads are in an appalling state, if they were at all concerned with safety we wouldn't be driving on roads that wouldn't be out of place in the Congo.

One thing about driving slower is that it gives you more time to avoid all the potholes! 😀

Thanks Bob. It was brilliant to see all the old cars from the past. I past my driving test in1969 so I have previously driven most of them and owned a few as well including a number of minis.. The first that hits you most of all is how small they are compared with modern day cars.

Please Bob &Jenny, keep on doing your videos YouR way. Many of us enjoy being ‘on the journey’ to the campsites. As a Pom, who’s been living in Australia for past 25years, it’s lovely going on ‘car’ rides around olde merry Britain- in all weathers! I love Jennys commentary as you pass through towns & pretty villages. The snippets of information of good pubs, easy-find-car-parks, points of interest. (More info than Mrs SatNag!) Even driving around camp sites gives us viewers an idea of possible visits ourselves. I subscribe to several ‘tours’ ( including a family of 5 on their 4th tour around Australia!) & each have their unique way of presentation. And that’s why we subscribe, we love your uniqueness❤️
