With the Avian flu’ still around it was lucky that this WWT centre was open as some centre were already closed. However, as a precaution, many pools were empty and no feeding allowed. It was very disappointing as many area to the other hides were also closed.
The Otter family youngsters very playful. I had not seen them for a long time so they were fun to watch.. Seeing the Great Cranes before we left was a nice surprise.
Best viewed in HD and I hope you enjoy what I managed put into this video. Thank you for viewing.

Thank you for viewing. Last time I visited Wildlife and wetlands they had more than the one Screamer but on this visit there was a problem in the UK with bird flu so not all the duck and geese were on show. I only saw this one Screamer but the others may have been hiding. Greetings from North Yorkshire and have a good day. Julie🌈🌞

Thank you Carmen I also loved the Otters as they were so loveable and I saw one otter carrying grass into their indoor area so I wonder if she had any baby otters in there. I did miss the ducks and geese that were missing as they have a lot of different ones there, but they had to keep them safe as the bird flu was bad that October so they were all but a few kept in isolation until it was safe to return them to their pools. Have a happy day. Warm greetings, Julie 🙏🏻🌺🌞

Many thanks for viewing my video Tomotugu. This our last holiday together when we went to the north east back in October last year for a weekend. As we had to cancel our last visit due to the pandemic, it was first on our list that holiday. There was not as many ducks of geese on show due to the Avian Flu' and I really did miss the friendly Nene geese or Hawaiian Geese as they are so gentle and I loved hand feeding them. Apart from that we both enjoyed the afternoon out in the fresh air especially as the Otters were very active that day. It was interesting that the Giant Cranes had been reared at those wetlands and might set up home somewhere in England in the future. Have a great week and enjoy your nature walks, Warm greetings, Julie👍🍀🍂🌿🥀🍄🧡🦆🌞

Yes, thank you for your kind comments Anita. I have been here a few times over the year and I hope it has got back to normal again as I loved seeing Hawaiian Geese, or nēnē. Apart from some Wetland like this one having a few, it is the rarest goose in the world and found only in the state of Hawaii. They will feed out of your hand and are so gentle and I really hope they still have them at WWT Washington, England. Have a wonderful day. Warm greetings, Julie.

It was good to get there as we had to cancelled because of the pandemic a couple of years back. Last October we had a long weekend in the north east so made sure we got to the wetlands on our first day. Because of Avian Flu' many pools were empty and so we did see some of our favourite ducks and geese. I love the Hawaiian Geese or Nenes. They are so gentle and eat from your hand. I really missed them on that visit. Still, the Otters were nice to see and I was pleased we managed to see the Great Cranes before leaving. Have a pleasant weekend Don. Warm greetings, Julie 🦆🍁🌈🌞

Peter Scott's place where it all started off. I missed information boards last year but I think they had to move so many duck to different pools that the information boards would have been confusing. I think the avian flu has past over now so all will be back to normal now. Enjoy you your weekend Paul. I hope it is pleasant one. Warmest greetings, Julie.

Yes, we have been many times over the years and always enjoyed it there. Last October the Avian Flu' was the cause of a lot of wild birds dying in the UK and so the Wetland Trust in England were taking precautions and taking many of the ducks and geese out of the pools and putting them in quarantine. This one had a lot of empty pools and ponds so I didn't see my favourite goose, the Nene or Hawaiian Goose. They are so gentle and eat out of your hand. The Wetland are all now fully open and a nice day out. The Otters were entertaining. Thank you for visiting, Have a great week, Greetings, Julie.

We visited most of the wildlife and wetland trusts over the years other than in Ireland and another in Wales and they all do a lot for inconcervasion of endangered species of wiĺd birds. Hello dear Julie, Surely I thought I had seen this beautiful video of this area and also I had left a nice comment. But I came to have a cosy look again and didn't see the comment. So I looked again to give you another support. This WWT center is really super beautiful with all the animals. And yes unfortunately the bird virus has killed many animals which is very sad with that. Now they have here in the Netherlands vaccinated the birds in some animal parks and hope it helps. Loved your video and especially the funny otters and the strange birds I did not know. Wishing you happy days and hope you are doing better. Sweet greetings, Tine

Thank you Tine. I am so pleased you liked the video even though many ducks and geese had been taken out of their pools as a precaution. I can tell by the number of birds in my garden that there isn't as many wild birds this year. I hope it improves. I am still finding it hard on my own Tine. I get my shopping every week but have not been any where yet. I can drive to a place but my balance problem since the operation on my spine is not good so is a worry for me. I felt so safe with my dear husband but now I always take a stick. I am fine in the house but then I just feel out of balance and have fallen badly a few times so always take a walking stick with me when I go out. I notice you do very well and have nice walker. You do so well and you take some beautiful wild flora and fauna. I have close family who say I should get something you have but I am not sure. The both live quite a distance from me. One lives in the Midlands and he is coming home to take me to our solicitors this Thursday as everything is just about been dealt with at last. The other lives the other side of Reading so has to stay over a few days as it is a long busy road up to me. They are both very busy both running the own business. I do not have much time on KZbin these last few months but hope to get back to see more of my friends videos as I know I have missed quite a few. I am doing most of the gardening to keep it nice as my husband loved the garden but I have a nice chap who cuts the lawns and prunes the big shrubs. Summer now going into Autumn is a lot to do in the garden but It has looked very nice and I have enjoyed taking video and photos of it so I hope to put some of it on when I have time. Thank you so much for visiting my channel Tine. You are very kind🧡 Have a happy week. Warmest greeting, Julie 👍 🍁🙏🏻🌈 🍀🌞

Thank you Spencer. Yes, Peter Scott started off the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust's from his home at Slimbridge and they now all owe their success to him. I have tried to visit all the wetland in the uk but not managed any in Ireland. However, I have visited Slimbridge many years ago but no video camera back them. I was very happy when Peter Scott presented my eldest son with his degree at university that year and I could not have wished for anyone better than him. Sorry I may have missed some of yours and others videos this year but I have not been on youtube as much as I lost my dear husband in March. The shock was unbearable but I am trying to get back to a bit of normality but it is hard. Enjoy your weekend Spencer. Warm greetings, Julie🍀🙏🌈🌞

Hi Dear Julie,, Im so happy to see you posted a video and what a beautiful video it is!!! Washington Wetland Center is a wonderful place,, so sad to read about the Avian Flu! You got such great footage of a large variety of Ducks and other birds. They all seem use to people. I hardly ever get close to a duck!! They know your a friend to them!! The Monument was cool to see,, what was the blue Smoke/Steam down below the Monument in the woodlands? Was it from a Train?? I have never seen a Black Swan,, was a beauty!!! AWWW the Otters are so adorable and the music you picked was perfect. The Pheasants are so sweet and the Pigeon had such pretty colorful and bright feathers!! I appreciate you typing out the captions,,, I know how much work that is!! Ive been thinking of you!! Sending you all my best!!! Thanks for a great video,, I enjoyed every moment!!! Brenda

Thank you Brenda for viewing. This our last holiday together when we went for a weekend in the north east back in October last year. We both loved these these wetlands and have been a lot over the years. As we had to cancel our last visit due to the pandemic, it was first on our list that holiday. There was not as many ducks of geese on show due to the Avian Flu' and I really did miss the friendly Nene geese or Hawaiian Geese. They are not showy so if you get a chance to see any they are so gentle and I loved hand feeding them. Apart from that we both enjoyed the afternoon out in the fresh air especially as the Otters put on a good show. Enjoy the new week Brenda. Warm greetings, Julie🦆🧡🌞

Hello, sorry, since I have a lot to do I no longer have a few people in my sights who don't visit me regularly! Today I discovered you again! An interesting park with lots of different birds and I really liked the otters, which I also filmed this year but haven't published yet. Have a nice weekend and best regards - Dietmar

My visits to KZbin have not been a often this year as I lost my dear husband suddenly. Such a lot to do but I am getting to visit more often. I still have one video from our last holiday together but I have not started editing yet. I know I have missed seeing many of my subscribers videos but hope they understand. The Wetland Trust we went to in this video did not have many ducks or geese as the Avian Flu' was bad last year in the UK. Many pools were empty as a precaution so I was happy they had a new place to see the Otters since we were last there. They are great fun to watch. Thank you for viewing Dietmar. Take care. Warm greetings, Julie🙏🏻🌞

Another lovely Upload from yourself again Julie. Quite cheering too. You can't go wrong with animals, always photogenic. Good choice of music too. How are you feeling these days? you have been through a great deal this year, especially with the sadness earlier. It's so good to see that you are uploading, I'm hoping that it's somewhat theraputic one way or another. I have only just started to upload a couple more from my archives, have had a lot of work keeping me from youtube, but still trying to keep on top. Take care Julie and best wishes. Geoff

Thank you Geoff for viewing. I am finding life terribly hard on my own. Such a lot going on, probate etc. but I have family who are helping. This video is one of three I took when we had our last holiday together in the north east last October, but I am trying to take footage of our garden birds now and then and I have been looked after our garden all summer as we both loved the garden, so I might get some videos out of all the footage I have taken when I get around to sorting it all out. I have managed to look after the garden, weeding etc. and putting in the summer bedding plants in and they have looked lovely this year. I have a nice chap who cuts the grass and prunes some of the taller shrubs they are a bit too much for me. We had plans to visit these Wetlands two years back but had to cancel that weekend away because of the pandemic. We had just 3-4 days last October and the weather was good weather so the wetlands were first on our list. I will put the other videos I took on my channel over the next few months as my husband would have wanted me to. I wish it was all a bad dream but know it isn't. No idea if I will go visiting places as we used to over the next year on my own so I will just see how I feel. I am so pleased you have had some great bookings since the pandemic restrictions ended as it must have been difficult for you not knowing when or where you will be in the near future or even how long all the restrictions would last and not return. I know you love your work especially over in the USA and you can always get back to your KZbin channel when you get some spare time. Nice to hear from you Geoff and I will look out to see what you are putting on your channel. I can't believe the days are getting shorter and autumn almost here. Take care but live life to the full, as one never know what is around the next corner. Warmest wishes, Julie.

Thank you Julie for your wonderful reply. Gosh i wish I had a wand I could wave and bring your husband back for you. This year especially i have been feeling rather low myself, I guess getting older doesn't help, All the past years I've kind of muddled through and probably seem have taken a childish view and attitude to life, sometimes irresponsible and selfish up to a point. It helped me through life where I tried to focus on all the great and exciting stuff out there and managed to ignore all negative stuff if I could. This year has been somewhat different, getting more arthritis pains than before and not quite having the energy as much as I had. But reading what you have just recently been through and others in similar situations makes me start to appreciate things more, even all those silly little things I once took for granted, I also know one way or another the time will pass and life will look and feel so much better for us all again. I once went through a sad divorce where my first wife decided out of the blue she wanted me out of her life as she had fallen in love with someone else, I remember it made me really ill at the time and watched as her excitement to be with this other guy. About two years later or more I did manage to see life again in a good way, I never thought I would, all the shaking and depresion almost completely vanished. Funny I did see her a couple of times well after the divorce and heard she had a bad experience with him as he used to drink heavily, long story short and she ended it. Part of me wanted to gloat at the time, but I just couldn't, I just thought how sad things went the way they did. At the moment things for yourself are very hard and I'm guessing that one day feels pretty much like the next, which it is, except a fraction more managable as each day goes, life probably doesn't make a lot of sense and the whole athmosphere of all the familiar places are not right, not just yet. It's going to come around gradually to a slightly different way of looking at things that will become normal and comfortable as well as feel right. I myself have been a bit off kilter the last few months and have found it difficult to concentrate on editing and uploading any new material for youtube, even though I have so much in my past archives on Hard Disks. It's so good that you are able to upload your Videos of the wetlands and other stuff, It can be sort of theraputic, especially knowing that myself and others certainly enjoy watching your movies and music, always cheering to see. Take care, and hope that you find some good moments this week, eventually those moments get bigger. Kindest Regards to you. Geoff

Hello Geoff. I have read this message a few time over the weekend Geoff and I feel that you understand how I am at this time. I can tell you have gone through a very personal upset in your life and it must have left you feeling very upset and confused as I was back in March as it was so sudden. I still find it hard to concentrate for long. Also, getting older does not help. At the end the day I am tired out, even though I don’t seem to have got much done. I have found working in the garden does help a little and hearing that you got through your dark days give me some hope. Thank you for your kind words Geoff. I know I am not the only one and many have much more upsets in their life than me. I have been very fortunate to have had many happy years with a wonderful husband. Enjoy your week. Take care. Warmest greetings, Julie.
