Woodland is a classic dead mall in Bowling Green, Ohio. Although the town itself is good, its proximity to better options in Toledo coupled with a lack of strong anchors are likely to have done this mall in. However, it still remains open as of the making of this video. Is there any hope for this place? Let's discuss its situation and find out.

I like almost all the music you use in your introductions but this intro music was hands down some of my favourite music so far. It really calmed me down and made me forget about all my stresses in my dysfunctional family. Thanks for that.😊❤

This was a good video.💜 Minus a few things, I really like this mall. The food court is definitely my favourite part of this mall. 🤗🙂😊It sucks that it's so empty. I can't believe a Sears store is opened in a mall this dead. That's a jaw dropper.

Used to go here every week for a sports collectibles store when I was in college. I'd grab a small pizza at the Jet's nearby, chow down in the food court here, and buy some NASCAR diecast. Only things left when I was there were that store, Durhams, Sear's, and a movie theater. Place truly died when the theater left right as COVID started. You can even take a peek past the shutters on the theater and see some promotional materials and theater supplies that were left behind. It'd be so cool to get to explore that theater now. So sad. You're right, there's nobody ever there, never was 5 years ago either. I probably was the most frequent visitor there. I'd walk about a mile to get there every week or so. Nice place to relax and take a break from the world. Edit: There it is at 4:31! Sport Zone! It's still there! I may need to make a visit

Did anybody else notice the Woodland Mall black and green carpets at 1:30? I like the fact that they have the initials. Simple and nice IMO. On a different note I thought Bowling Green was only in Kentucky. I never knew there was a Bowling Green in Ohio. I guess you learn something new every day.

Yes it closed up. The Fringe moved into the space. They’re expanded, now selling furniture and bigger items.

Ah my all time favorite dead mall. You can have your Forest Fair and Century 3 I'll have this. I first discovered this in 2021 when I was talking to a girl online and we decided to meet halfway which was this area. She canceled on me but I still went here and I fell in love with this place. Shout out to the sports place. I always buy a lanyard when I'm there, I have like 3 now haha. Also there is an excellent Asian buffet in the building in front of the mall. 2:12 That place on the right is now a sushi place that moved from a local Kroger IIRC. The Sears Hometown closed last year and the thrift store in 7:10 moved into it.

Broken Wings from Mr. Mister? I love that song. It's so addictive. Thanks for pointing that out. That song didn't come to mind when I was listening to it. It did sound familiar though.

@@ms.zelman3032yes! At about 45 to 60 seconds in, the synth drums and keys kick in and it’s got that broken wings sound… at least to my ears 😂

I moved to Bowling Green about a year ago and this mall has fascinated me but I didn't know much about it. Good to hear the history of it, I am guessing it Dunham sports was Jc Penny originally? Wonder what the food court had? Sears is now a thrift shop.

Finally a person hitting it on the nail - TOO many of these things were built, and if there were several in 1 area, all were doomed. Just a sign of how stupid the people who rushed to build these things were, not looking long-term or seeing what others were doing and where. Some of these malls are gorgeous, while others are just blah, bland.

That a huge fitness center with enough treadmills to keep any fitness and treadmill user happy. A Sears store, wow, haven't seen one in years now. A great video Doomie, (as always, first class, also love your music selections) glad you didn't get run out of the mall. Never know why they do that, unless they think your just there to shoplift, you wouldn't be carrying a camera.

When I went to BGSU 2011-15, it looked like this and all of us said there was no way this place would survive even a few more years. Now a decade latter. Geez.

Too bad that they closed the movie theater, and now there isn't one in the entire city. You'd think a college town of 30k people would be enough to be able to support a movie theater.

My own view is, it's time to either convert the mall into something else or redevelop the land. The fact That the woodland mall is still a thing is a bit odd and I have to believe that it's days are numbered.

For me, the worst is Illinois. It's flatter than Iowa, and you got long straights of nothing but corn & soybeans. Oh. And watch out for oncoming traffic in your lane.

Imagine having to pull your car into that lot as an employee or even worse a business owner in that mall. One day you would just get out of your car and kill yourself. Depressing AF. Great video and thank you for reminding us of the nostalgia and that likely our life is not that bad.

I used to frequent this mall in college for the sports collectibles store there. He's right, the Sears there was somehow still alive until at least winter 2021 when I graduated. Sometimes I wondered if Sears corporate just forgot the place existed and never closed it down.

Kinda reminds me of the mall in Madisonville, KY. It's a smaller mall then that but the parking lot is in shambles, 2/3 of the mall is empty stores and it just seems like it's been stuck in the 80s.
