The whole shouting out thing is so different now. I think people do it less in videos but more on Twitter, at least that's definitely what I do. I also did a blog post recently featuring the best KZbinrs under 10k, and I liked that I could talk about them for as long as I wanted without it affecting my actual channel? But yeah, things have definitely changed a lot.

I love my, "smaller", KZbinr friends. There are two British university students I follow who are daily vloggers (Jake Ward Vlogs and Jamie Ped's Vlogs ). They post videos daily, I comment, and they reply back. It is like having a daily video penpal. It is great to have that kind of cultural exchange. I think shoutouts are a nice idea, but would be more effective with a little "sales pitch" attached. In that sense I think that collaborations are of more value than shoutouts at their simplest as they give you a chance to see some of what the other channel is offering. I'm not really looking to subscribe to _more_ channels as it can be hard to keep up with what I'm already subscribed to. However, if I stumble upon someone or something that really interests me I will subscribe.

It's definitely been a while since i watched your videos. I'm still around. ha! Either I'm used to your video style, or you don't change the vid a lot these days. :) I miss the old youtube days. Those times do need to come back. perhaps they will. everything does seem to come back by and repeat every now and then. I can do without the people cutting each other down on other videos and such, but with others there was such creativity. I don't watch a lot of american tv anymore. I'm more into british tv. Seems to be more my style. Has been for a long time now. :)

Its so great to see you back at it.. I do have 1 suggestion. If you shout out another channel, maybe not do it where its just text on a screen. Maybe actually say them.. Like "hey check out ... so and so.." I think hearing you (or others) actually shout out others would be more then just reading text at the end credits. just a thought!!

Shout outs. Oh those were the days. I don't know. I don't know how effective it is anymore. I think it's a good thing to do don't get me wrong, I just think that with the bias towards bigger YTers, unless you have a significant following or happen to make the shoutout some kind of occasion, I don't think it works beyond making the channel shouted out feel good. Which in itself is a nice thing to do. The platform isn't set up to work like that anymore. Side-note: I think I'm going to start vlogging again. Watching you come back and reading the comments from both channels has made me miss and value the engagement within the vlogging community. I'm going to set up a new channel and start from scratch. Find a new community or engage with the old one. We shall see. Cheers Bill.
