That's why when I think of luxury, it's mostly some cultural pleasures like music or art, or literature to me rather than tangible things like clothes or food I had a lot of that luxury in my childhood. My country cared for that a lot! We used to listen to the classical music on the radio, TV and radio broadcasted the best orchestras performances.
