Vivaldi always sounds SO MODERN to me for some reason. When I first heard Vivaldi when I was 14, it was his "Four Seasons: Winter", and I thought it from was a modern composer because it sounds so modern. Beautiful music.

Nope, he is playing on a baroque cello in baroque tuning. The lower bridge, lower tension of the strings, as well as using gut strings, brings a whole different tone to the inatrument.
