A Walk Around Echo Park, Los Angeles

This is a little homage to my hip and cool neighborhood of Echo Park. What Laurel Canyon was to 1960's in LA, Echo Park is the 2000-teens now. I used to shun this neighborhood for almost all the years I have lived in Los Angeles. But now, the hood has rid itself of the gang criminals who prey on small business and immigrants for "protection" money, etc. New modern architecture is appearing everywhere. Those "Dwell" magazine kind of homes are popping up every where. Now, if Trader Joe's Management would just get hip to the gentrification of Echo Park and build a new Joe's here, all would be perfect.

It's a nice area during the day, but it can get pretty bad at night especially around the lake. There is a well established gang called the " echo Park locos" that like to hang out in that area.

Lived off of Landa, where Echo Park ended for 15 years, thanks for the vid, brought back many lovely memories. Walked along many of the dirt pathways in Elysian Park.

I stayed there in 2014, but the area I was in looked very sketchy. (West Temple Street?) Watching this video makes me think I need to visit again and take in all these awesome sights. This is now one of my new favorite KZbin videos!

Yes, and calling them homeless is being generous. These are drug addicts and mentally insane. People who refuse to live by the rules. People who have lost their jobs and can’t afford a home get housing via various charities. The drug addicts in Echo Park, rob, steal, break-in from the homes in Echo Park to pay for their addiction. And the police do nothing about it. Why the idiots of this city keep voting for Democrats is beyond me.
