I go on a local 8-mile walk in the Peak District in the county of Derbyshire around Matlock, Lumsdale Valley, Tansley, Riber Castle, High Tor, Giddy Edge, Matlock Bath and Tinker’s Shaft to try out my new Sony 4K camcorder.

I’m really impressed with your new camera and microphone. Clear footage, you could even see moss on the edges of the bridge you crossed. The mic picked up some guy shouting loud and clear. I really enjoyed the short walk. I never knew you had cable cars up there. How you managed to navigate those ridges with one hand I’ll never know. Hope you are now on the mend. Cheers Patrick

Thanks Kelly, I'm pleased with the new camera and mic too. I think the picture quality will show up more on larger TVs. It's a great short local walk, so I just took the cmaer along with me to try it out with a few shots. Those cable cars are in Matlock Bath going up to the Heights of Abraham, featured in a couple of earlier videos. Feeling much better now, thanks Kelly. All the best 👍

Excellent video Patrick! The image is very steady and sharper. Lovely area, but I definitely could not do that high edge as I suffer with vertigo, I got shivers just watching you do it! Thanks for all the beautiful videos that you make.

Nice camera Patrick. I had the Sony AX53 few years back. Yours has lovely sharpness to it. the field of view was slightly less but the stabilization was lovely on it. I liked the sounds on this film too especially by those waterfalls. take care there Patrick. I certainly can see the difference with your new sony camera 4k. The difference in clarification is noticeable . Are you pleased with it? There were some precarious looking ridge tracks with steep vertical drops on route of your walk! not my scene at all! I bought a new Sony camcorder HDR-CX625 as the one you mentioned before didn't seem to be around. Had setting problems though. I am also considering a wireless mike so will check out from your notes.. How are your feeling now after your recent health problems? Hope much better now but taking things easy until back to normal.🙂

Hi Shanita, yes I'm really very pleased with my new camcorder. Also my last camera didn't have anywhere on which to attach an external mic, so with this one I was able to get the new mic too. A wireless mic sounds a great idea. The Rode mic I bought just sits on top of my camera and is directional, so the sounds seems to be very good so far. I'm much better now thanks. The illness did seem like it would never end for a while, but I'm practically 100% again now thankfully. Thanks Shanita for all your continued support, all the best 👍

Good going Patrick. I tried it in 1080 and 4K - the K4 was impressive. Question. What's the auto focus like on it - you know from one subject to say a macro subject? Is it quick? Also what are the batteries? I know most Sony are universal - NP-BX1 X. Is this the same. Well, a really nice treat. Mark

Hey Mark, yeah I enjoyed testing out this new kit. The autofocus works very quickly much like my last camcorder. Watching back this video though I found that holding the camera too close to me made the picture slightly out of focus, so since having more practice I've used the tripod and held the camera a bit further away and the focus has been sharper. Not sure yet how good macro might be on this, but I don't normally get too close to subjects to worry about that. I've always used the NP-FV100 batteries as they work with most Sony camcorders and give about 3 hours or more power, so I can get away with just a couple of those in one day.
