I like that you show parts of Ventnor and surrounding areas that never get shown. I visit and stay in Ventnor a good few times, and the place gives me an aura i find unique. Past the cemetery and into Lowtherville too, now there is, the part of town that is overlooked, lol.

Thank you. I just used my iPhone mini to shoot my videos - amazing how good cameras on phones are these days!

Nice post. Brings back happy memories. I used to run from Shanklin to Ventnor and back, i lovwd the challenge of the hills and the beautiful countryside and sea views. Thanks for this video

I have walked up and down there many times. My parents are on Gills Cliff Road and we visit often.

Sounds like a Robin establishing 2024's territory nice and early! I have a tourists familiarity with the area - so that part of Ventnor only on the way to/from other places. If Leeson Road stays closed, increased traffic on Newport Rd over the Graben could lead to even more interesting times. Yikes.

It's a bit worrying. Hopefully we'll not get too many winter gales as the sea eats away at the base of The Landslip. That is indeed a Robin - it's so mild and spring-like. They're getting over-excited!

Hey Christopher: I'm currently in my home town of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight but will be in Suffolk next week and then in Cornwall and back in Ventnor at various points over the summer! The joys of being location independent! Welcome to the channel 😊

That was a trek and a half, I needed my inhaler halfway up and I'm just watching... Glorious sunshine though. At 12:30 when you're "dropping down onto Ocean View Road" reminded me there used to be a house on the green there that dropped down onto Ocean View Road nearly 40 years ago... it was so bad that some of the light switches landed in Madeira Road, with a bit of help from me... it was that or trying Hurst first. 😂 At the end you're by the Winter Gardens, is that still closed and abandoned or are there plans to fix it up?

😂I'm still out of breath the morning after... Yeah you're right about the house. Good parts scavenging opportunities! My parents owned a house on Ocean View Road and that was attempting to shift into Ventnor Park. It'll get there given time... The Winter Gardens are open at the moment but so much work still needs to be done to get it back up to its former self. Could be wonderful

@@Cornishvandweller I wonder if the Winter Gardens will go the way of the old cinema and be redeveloped into flats? I can't see much of a future for it. Ryde Theatre is another one that's being left to rot.
