Thirsk is a lovely little market town it’s a shame the pubs were not serving food. Pleased you finally found a nice place to eat. The church was beautiful, Jenny is very knowledgable and I think Poppy enjoyed her walk inside the church x

You missed the James Herriot centre. His original Vet Practice and home .under his real name of Alf White. You did see St Marys church were he and Helen were married. Was it lack of interest or didn't you realise .

How can you take a dog inside a cafe I thought in England it was illegal unless it was a assistant dog for the blind (they say you learn something new everyday) I have just looked on Google and you are allowed to take a dog into a place where they are preparing food under the owners discretion there is no law but a lot of people think including myself ! thought there was .

Where you take your dog is always at the discretion of the owners. Fortunately for us, increasing numbers of places are dog friendly.
