Sorry you out of towner folks, but, but you are waaaay wrong calling these Grapes, or whatever. In this case - We Chicagoans call it just plain "Ivey" here, and at Wrigley Field. When you are in Chicago, do as the Romans, I mean CHICAGOANS. IT IS IVEY !! Like when they hit a fly ball into the outfield wall, they don't say: "It's a high fly ball, it might be outta here...no, wait, it's into the GRAPES!!" 😊

I understand how you feel Ron. I was a memorial councilor for several years and because the older councilors were beyond childbearing years, they thought that I, being a young mother, would be better suited to address all the baby and young people burials. It got to be extremely stressful for me. After the family were finished making arrangements and left, I cried for them and their losses. After a few years of this, I asked to be transferred to making arrangements for older people, which was not granted, so I had to quit. Do yourself a favor and take a break if you need to. We will all understand. It's always such a peaceful walk through the cemetery with you narrating. God Bless, Ron.

I had an older sister who died as an infant so from a very young age my mother would take me to the cemetery to put flowers on her grave . It was a very large cemetary near the city ( Sydney) so I guess my fascination stemmed from there. It's nice just to walk sometimes and read the names and look at the beautiful stones and statues and wonder about the people and their lives. Thanks Ron, I appreciate all the effort you put in to these videos and that you share this with all of us that have the same interests.

Ron, when you walked down the mound for the mausoleum at the 30-minute mark, I heard the sound of kids playing. I had hoped what I was hearing was in your video. But I went back to play it again just to see, and I didn't hear it the second time. That was just weird! My two favorite graves were the very first mausoleum you walked up with the name of Huck. That was stunning!! Then the second one I wish I could look inside of was the red mausoleum with the black iron door on the front of it. I didn't see a name over the door, but it was part of that row of mausoleums that you passed. I love it because it's different then all the rest. It stands out. Very cool. What a beautiful cemetery!

Cities in the 1800s, early 1900s were crowded. Green space was at a premium. People worked six days a week. On Sundays, hundreds of them went to the cemeteries to have picnics and let their kids play. It was “the place” to go. The first public park system was established in the City of Milwaukee, according to a documentary on their history. The idea caught on like wildfire and inspired federal parks such as Yellowstone.

I love Graceland so much..I have spent so many pleasant hours sitting along the waterside under the weeping willows. I remember the day I had my epiphany while looking at a tiny alabaster headstone with a carved sleeping baby on top..it simply said. ',our baby''...I thought that that loss must be the most severe loss anyone could ever face, and that the ground all around that place must be literally soaked in tears...but then I took a step to the side and saw the graves of the parents that,is why I love graveyards. It gives the big picture. Yes,there is pain in speration, but it is only brief...the baby and it's parents are together now...and will be...forever. ♥️🛐💐

President James Monroe appointed him Indian Agent at Fort Dearborn. He lived across from Fort Dearborn in the Agency House next to the Kinzie's family home..They called Alexander's house "Cobweb Castle" due to him being a bachelor at the time, he lacked housekeeping skills. That's how his home became known "Cobweb Castle😁 ..His grave is directly in front of John Kinzie's grave. Next to Alexander Wolcott would be 2 of his sons buried next to him. My family and I would go visit my Uncle who pretty much raised my Mom as a child at the cemetery every year on his birthday. While they were at his grave I would always go and look around at all the stones. My Mom would occasionally look at other graves also. Our family reunions were in a hall beside a cemetery and a lot of the family would go to the cemetery and look around. I have an Aunt buried at that cemetery. I remember this one time my family and Grandparents were driving around and we went to my Great Grandparents grave on the way home. Visiting loved ones at cemetery’s have never been weird for my family. My ex husband would go with me to random cemetery’s also. He didn’t have an interest like I did. I don’t know maybe it’s because I live in a small county but it seems like there are a lot of people who at least visit their loved ones here.

Next time pay a visit to St. Casmir cemetery. A really big grave marker that has a wall the curves around the corner has the priest buried there. My grandparents, aunt and brother is buried at one of the oldest lot there. The headstone was marked with my great uncle who died pretty young. I need to go visit them soon.

What an awesome surprise here this is like an early christmas present ......ya got 2 episodes worth as well i am so excited and I must contain myself here..... now i want to ramble on about quite a few of these graves but ill keep it short ....one ironic thing on this one is you kinda start ontrack where i had you on at rosehill and between you and me sir the Huck family were rivals to the Lills......the first beer barons in town such irony.....i could talk for days about Huck family and the great memorials for them all over there .....two thumbs up👍👍this was fun thanks
