The Pengelley family from Port Morant did a lot for work and business in St Thomas back in the days. The Bowden Wharf, Clfton Hill Estate, and the Sugar Factories were up and running back then. Hopefully, the Morant Bay Utban Center will be the first of many businesses entities that will make way into the St Thomas economy.

I hope you and your neighbors will be voting labour so that the parish continues to grow. Next project from the government should be an agro processing facilities to take advantage of the agricultural products from the parish. It actually better that st. Thomas get this now than earlier in time. It gets to be modern and can take advantage of the newer way of building cities. I think at the end of the day Kingston just gonna be older and chucked up and not as geat to live as these other parishes. Once u can access everything and find a job in your parish don't have to leave to come Kingston for nothing. Fresher air nice hills and views, close access to beach.

Pnp lock down good year
@elgranjero22849 күн бұрын
Stop spreading lies and rumours. Good Year was not a government entity and therefore could not be closed by the PNP nor the JLP. Good Year closed because of Competitive Advantage. It was cheaper and far more profitable for them to make the tires in other countries and ship the product to the Jamaican market, rather than making tires in Jamaica. Go read the facts; it is not hidden. Obviously the amount of LIKES you got tells me that there are people who are believing the false narrative. Please be more responsible in what you write

Such an initiative should be the responsibility of the parish council as that is one of there mandate include building a modern market, contructing a covered transportation center against rain and sun. Plus clean up the parish cemetery at the round about as it's over grown with bushes and its a disgrace to the people of St Thomas

This is not a project from both parties. This is a project conceived and implemented by the Andrew Holness led administration.
@Wes202318 күн бұрын
The PNP has nothing to do with the urban center or for that the urban center concept as this has been an original concept of our visionary prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness. He already launched the next urban center in Portland and announced urban center for westmoreland, Trelawny and Hanover. In the 23 years the PNP had been in power nothing like this was ever talked about. The PNP under PJ Patterson and Phillip Paulwell wasted millions to convert the old good year factory into a call center with nothing to show for it except for photos of them popping and drinking cheap champagne 😢
