A Walk In Pineville Kentucky

Join me for a Saturday morning walk in beautiful Pineville, Kentucky. This is the seat of Bell County and traces its history back to 1781. The Bell Theater is absolutely beautiful and is the cover of our video. The county courthouse and grounds are also quite noteworthy. The architecture here is also very unique, with unique colors used through the downtown buildings in the city center. This brings back memories. My granny use to do all her shopping in Pineville. I remember her taking me to A&P. I miss those days. I left 18 years ago. I miss home.

@@SightsSoundsFlavorsmy Dads side live in Barbourville and surrounding areas so I’ve been all over down there. What I’d give to back 45 years or so and run like wild Indians with my cousins. It used to be dry so we’d have to go all the way to Richmond or down through the gap to Va. it made a heck of a beer run lol. Or you could go to the bootlegger at Flat lick

I grew up in Pineville attended Pineville schools I live just 8 miles away still. The painting on the side walk is done every year memorial day weekend for the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival. They are painted by the students at Pineville high school. The jail is still active. The bell theater is still active it was a movie theater. Marylin monroes sister is buried in the cemetery by the hospital

Wow how things have changed for me in 38 years. City Hall used to be a bank. The wireless store used to be Flocoe Drug store, The print shop used to be Farris Drug store. There were few restaurants and only two chain restaurants, Pizza Hut and Druther's. I am pretty sure not one of those business around town square were there, except Stephen Cawood's Law office but if I'm not mistaken it was obove Farris Drug's (Print shop now). I wish you would have walked down Kentucky and Virginia Avenue's to view the houses. Enjoyed the video!

Thanks for the video. Pineville is a beautiful little town. Some of my family came through the gap and settled there. They have some great festivals there too. I'm impressed that the city fixed up their downtown area, and brought in new businesses.

Dudes clearly not from here 😂. Half the places you mentioned don’t exist anymore. The things on the ground are for the kmlf which is a big festival we host called Kentucky mountain Laurel festival.

I was riding the propane bulk truck making a stop in Pville 84’ or so,a bum walked up and asked my cousin for $. My cousin told the guy to get lost, he said well your just a bimbo from Bimble, my cousin said well you’re just a wino from Pineville get off my truck. Just a memory
