I love Taco Tico. My wife & I were married in 1987, we actually visited Taco Tico which was in Richmond Kentucky then on our honeymoon. Fast forward 15 years two kids & a new home Richmond taco Tico long gone but we found one in Corbin Kentucky. We took our kids several times as it was right next to a theater. Great memories of great food. Now I’ll have to make my way back to Lexington, maybe for our anniversary!

More than 45 years ago, I used to go to the Taco Tico on Rock Road - on the east-side of Wichita, Kansas. I was stationed at McConnell AFB - which was just down the road. I remember their food being very good !

They still have one in Augusta! You can buy their taco meat by the bag, too. Frozen. We had one for years in our little town in the southeast corner of Kansas but it closed about 12 years ago. 😢

Before COVID, this Taco Tico had a 'Condiment Buffet' station in the middle of the restaurant. Miss it.....

I worked at this restaurant in the late '70s. They had one over near Tates Creek high School and I was the main cook and main cashier at that time. It's hard to believe all of them's gone. Time sure flies. Thanks for sharing this.

I remember going to the one on bardstown road as a kid. You should hit up Pizza Inn in Frankfort. Use to be one in PRP in the early 80’s. I loved their taco pizza.

First went to Taco Tico with my dad as a teen over in Louisville around 2007. We thought it was so cool when they opened one in New Albany, IN. Used to go after my brother's music lessons, sometimes just for churros and other times for a burrito or nachos. Can't remember when they finally closed that store, but I don't think it even lasted 10 years.

Had a Taco Tico in Chillicothe Missouri back in the 70's and 80's. We would drive from Trenton which was about 30 minutes away to get some. Had a Taco Tico just outside of Eldon Missouri in the early mid 90's. It was so good.

1970, First one in our town. Yorkshire Center, Webster Groves in St. Louis. Tacos were 23 cents. All the stone heads used to hang around on the sidewalk in front and panhandle spare change to take care of their munchies.

That one has been there forever. A few years ago someone else bought and opened 2 more locations, but one of them recently closed. There was also one way out in the mountains, literally in the middle of nowhere, I think near Hazard. Nothing around for miles but then just a Taco Tico sitting there for some reason. You should check out Rax, its like the Taco Tico version of Arby's. I think there's ONE left in KY and a couple in Ohio.

@endtables, trying to remember the location you mentioned. The only thing I recall being close to Cinemas toward the Watterson was KFC by Cinemas, Motel 6 by McDonalds, then Toy Tiger, Ranch House then down a bit to Watterson. I grew up in Bon Air neighborhood. hard to recall!

I lived in Illinois for the first decade of my life, Many, MANY Moons Ago and I remember Taco John's. As a matter of fact I live in North Carolina now and recently in the past month I have been waking up in the middle of the night Dreaming of Chicago Style Hot Dogs and Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches and Hot Italian Beef Sandwiches and Taco John's. Just have one left here in Louisiana. It's outside of New Orleans in the town Of Kenner. About 15-minute drive from New Orleans near the airport. Hope it sticks around for a while because Taco Bell got nothing on them. 😆
