Not everyone will feel it, but for those who do, I think it has to do with that primal feeling of wanderlust and a longing to connect with your own life and the world around you in a simpler, more meaningful way. It’s seeing a balance between using technology to document the adventure with mounted, hand held, and drone HD cameras, instruments and DAW to compose your own score to breathe life into images and narration for each video log entry. At same time, there’s also a healthy disconnect from all of the incessant and unnecessary technology that encumbers our every day life. He’s getting to remote places and exploring, sharing the experience with a faithful and willing companion, appreciating the wonder of the natural beauty of these places. These are things that humans have been able to experience in some way throughout our evolution, and that connection to the ancient remnants of where we came from, those feelings that lie dormant, they sometimes stir the soul in a way that gives us a fleeting glimpse into something very deep, very spiritual, and very human. I’ve been doing solo camping and travel adventures for many years, and a lot of people don’t get it. I guess for those who get it, these types of videos give you that feeling that you just can’t d describe.
