I used to live there in hastings..in my first quarter of life..well almost..i was about eleven when we came to canada. I remember it so well..loved so much about it.....loved he old town...i lived on the cliff above one of the lifts....we could see the whole town from up there.. i remember being streetwise...id look for barns that has horses..or just cruised the streets looking at arcitecture..i took art classes from kindergarten...childrren. Made caves high on th e cliffs..with paths to travel. I remember touching petrified wood..it was in a park. It felt like stone....i still have fond memmories of e ngland..mostly hastings...im 70 this year...its good to remember...xo

I always take my family there if not for long weekend or a week once a year for the last 16 yrs or so . My favourite place it's got something about no town can get near.. all the history . The fishing huts in rock n ore ... got some nice pubs .. 100 % added bonus. The cafe on top of hill overlooking the whole town is fantastic on a nice sunny day ... heading straight back after COVID is over .. great video stay safe 👍

The even better thing about Hastings is the music, art, great pubs and colourful characters that are to be found. It’s a piece of Old England that has survived the rigours of time. Love it.

You should go see the public gardens...they should still be there after 50 years..at least i hope so....bautiful plants and bushes. Lots of fun things to do..its got to be more cultured now..but it wS unendingly beautiful at 10 or so years of age. Enjoy xo

I lived in Hastings for a year or so back in 2005 on a work, travel visa from South Africa. Loved walking around the castle and the Old Town. It has some sketchy areas too though.

Your nice walk ends at lovely Ebenezer House. We stayed there two years ago and realy loved it - so the whole town.

Frank Sturm ...we had a fun stay there at Ebenezer House. One, the guy who runs it was out of town and had his sweet absent minded mother running the place, she didn’t have a clue as to our reservation or bedrooms needed, which made it all the more charming...also, there was an American woman there who had embezzled mountains of money from investors in NYC. She was on the lamb at Ebenezer House and was having her emotional breakdown while we were there. Spilled the whole bag of beans to us. I wanted to call the police of this con lady. But alas we were too busy enjoying Hastings.

Live and let live :-) We had the whole house for us alone on our trip along the southcoast to Lands End and back again and stayed there twice. Peter, who was running it, is nice a chap. We would definetly recommend him and the lovely - somewhat strange indeed - Ebenezer's House... :-)
