I noticed that also. I would have to seriously downsize my workshop to fit on a barge. Though wouls learn the art of hand tools over power tools, that's for sure.

@@pensioner-afloat What kind of things do you make/repair in your workshop? I bet there is still a fair bit of scope despite limited space. Love the feel of your home.

@@briannewton3535 I did when I retires and sold most of my tools to a young person just starting in the trade, if i had kept them the boat would have gone to ground on day 1 , Cheers

@@pensioner-afloat Being of an "age" myself, are their any adjustments you have had to make for your narrowboat life? I see the young 'uns jumping across lock gates and heaving bags of coal.

This is a lovely tour of the inside of your boat. I love the LED strip lighting throughout; it provides a nice ambiance. Hanging the pots and lids on the side walls is also a very practical and space-saving way to store them. I wish you many happy blessings on your adventures. 🙌🙏

Video from drone footage is useful on the odd occasion for a view of countryside where you are located but not over used as in some canal vlogs, have subscribed

Looks very comfortable and functional. I noticed your array of tools i guess you do most of your own maintenance etc, would you mind if you were asked to give your opinion on your priorities when you chose your boat and maintenance since. Keep up good work.
@pensioner-afloat17 күн бұрын
Ask anything you want I may well be able to give you my opinion as to choice but was 25 years ago and boats where not so prolific as today and yes I do most of my own maintenance as a mechanical/electrical fitter from the 60s onward I learned a bit over the years Basics is well documented as to get pre-purchase a survey not only the hull but a full one that covers engine and gearbox and all electricals etc plus any fitments included (expensive but cheaper than replacing a part like a inverter charge or stove in the long term I did change the engine but this was due to obsolete parts on a BMW / Hatz Engine and a spanish made gearbox it was more eco to replace and sell the old one to aomeone for parts , Also being Kubota base parts and readily available from Kubota UK at Thame Oxfordshire Internals where fitted by previous owner and refurbed about 2006 using a good brand of varnishes/paints and galley floor was granite tiled for ease of cleaning A must these days is electricals 12v and 230v . Solar . alternator output around 100 AH . generator for colder months out on the cut is a really item and the adding of Lifepo4 batteries If you can afford the time have one built to your requirements if not get one the can be modified at reasonable cost as you will loose money on the value as the years pass not like a house they depreciate a fair amount for first 10 years or so As to maintenance a couple of water pumps and a replacement inverter and a new alarm clock was about all other than the servicing of Engine and gearbox 2x per year or 500 hrs whichever comes along first I you require anything else just ask Richard

I just came across your channel. Thanks for the tour of your lovely narrowboat. I'm going to subscribe - but please don't do drone footage!! It's been useful for seeing the devastation on the Bridgewater but generally speaking I think it's overrated.
