normall you clear a patch of ground about six feet in diameter of all debris before creating a fire in wooded areas. Otherwise you risk the fire spreading and setting fire to the forest. But I guess it is probably too damp for that to be a big worry there. Still, you can't always tell. sometimes it looks wet but things under the top might be dry enough to catch fire, and once the flame gets to a certain point, the radiant heat will quickly dry out all the wet material nearby and make them catch fire as well.

We were aware of the potential danger, but since it was raining and the ground was very damp, we decided not to take additional precautions. Nevertheless, we kept a close eye on the fire to ensure it didn’t spread to the surrounding areas and made sure to fully extinguish it before heading home. Thank you for your comment; it’s crucial to highlight that one should never do this, especially in dry conditions or during summer
