I wonder how much this place impacts the surrounding area in either a positive or negative way. I can't seem to find too much information on it. It looks like it draws in a decent crowd. I wonder if this.was filmed on a busy day at peak hours or not.
@timbarnes2259 Жыл бұрын
Well, every visitor uses transport to get to the area.. Then you have the carbon construction costs. Electricity consumed every day.. Food consumption on premises., Merchandise supply line etc.. Would probably take a few days to enter all of the data into a Chinese Super Computer..

Why can’t we have malls like this in US smh lol. Hope I can visit someday!
@Mariescott33803 жыл бұрын
Well, we have Mall of America in Minnesota that has an indoor amusement park and it's only $12 for all day admissions into the park. It's a pretty large mall. There are so many places to shop and so many places to eat. Plus all clothing items are tax free.
@DJCatgirlOfficial3 жыл бұрын
@@Mariescott3380 I agree, I actually live by it spend a lot of time there! Just wish we had a wave pool and the horse riding I guess haha. It's still a fantastic mall, and they're currently adding a few entertainment things like a video game room and expanding the hotels. We can still win the mall race!

Malls are a dying phenomena in the US as many of them close every year. It seems that open outdoor malls that mimic a town are what the American malls are evolving into. It appears that US infrastructure is looking at being less car-dependent in the future, so it makes sense why malls are going for such a layout. Another thing to consider is that US malls tend to be outside a city, whereas this one is in right smack dab in a very populated city, so it has more foot traffic than our malls. Consumer spending power and preference play a roll in it too. I personally prefer the outdoor malls set alongside a body of water or some place with a view, especially since consumers in general prefer atmospheres and experience rather than standardized shopping.

The building itself is impressive. The shops and businesses inside look unoriginal and downmarket. There is nothing "Chinese" about it. There is even a McDonalds. There is a photo of a Hollywood actor in an advertisement. If the contents of the building were a display of Chinese heritage and culture it would be worth visiting. It is deflating to see another country aping the worst of Western "culture".
@bldomain4 жыл бұрын
This is a shopping mall, you dick! not a museum of Chinese heritage and culture. There is a time and place for everything in China, from modern cities to rural town, Himalayas, vast prairie, desert, ancient town and ethic minority villages. Come to China and see for yourself and not judge China by typing keyboards like some SJW. Sights and sound of China by JUST WALKING kzbin.info/aero/PLOcyzJdsH2qoFwUJ0X7eJWFpGpeUBnaQx

@bingxuanhu58263 жыл бұрын
It's just a shopping mall,we go there at weekend's for shopping, movies, indoor water park and other entertainments. It is not a museum, and thus it doesn't have to bear the responsibility of showing Chinese culture to the bigger world. It's just a shopping mall which targets at local people and at weekend's and at holidays, it is extremely busy.
@DIProgan3 жыл бұрын
This is modern China for you. They always have to compare themselves with western socities, their products and their celebrities because China's population have no actual confidence in their own culture (what little is left of it). And why should they? A government that control their every move & performs genocide, a business culture that steals and creates cheap/bad copies and a people that will leave others dying in the streets if they're unknowns. Not much to be proud of indeed.
