Market Hall, Monday to Saturday (1/2 day Tuesday) 8.30am to 4pm
This fabulous Victorian Market Hall, which celebrated its centenary in 2004, was the focal point of trading in the town when it was built. When it became full the open market grew up around it. Today it is home to 38 permanent market stalls and is famed for its extensive range of fine foods and produce. Fresh meat and dairy produce, flowers, clothing and household items, together with the famous tripe stall ensure the Market Hall is as popular now as it was when it was built over 100 years ago.
Open Market
Wednesday and Saturday General Market, 9am to 4.30pm
Still the largest and most renowned open market in Yorkshire, Dewsbury's fabulous open market boasts over 300 stalls on general market days. Meander through the aisles and you can be sure to find almost everything you need and many things you never knew you needed. Friday Second-Hand Market, 9am to 3.30pm
Whilst not on the grand scale of the general market days, the second-hand market still has a tantalising array of goods with around 100 stalls each week, a bargain hunter's paradise.
Sunday Car 'Bootless' Sale, 7.30am to 12.30pm
'One man's trash is another man's treasure' and this is certainly so at this market. Crowds flock here each Sunday searching for that bargain hidden amongst the thousands of items on sale. If you love browsing and hunting out valuables then what better way to spend your Sunday morning? Or why not come along with your unwanted items and leave with an empty boot and full wallet? Stall prices are £12.30 each, set-up at 7am on any available stall.
