Disturbingly, males with antisocial traits, aggression and violence, as well as those with psychopathic traits are actually specifically attracted to police, security, military roles. Not my opinion, there’s solid research on this. It does make sense if one perceives those roles as a “socially acceptable opportunity” to take a position of dominance, power and control, engage with aggression, or even violence. Not only that but, being in a field dominated by men with traditional gender roles reduces the possibility that obvious and fucked up red flags like him being nicknamed “the rapist“ will be taken seriously and reported.

Can you imagine your father is a police officer and you're just a kid and you realize your dad is in trouble but you don't understand it and then he no longer lives with you and you find out he is in prison and that he will never live with you again and then you start hearing rumors at school that your dad murdered a girl and buried her ... and that where you were playing is near where he buried her . Look at how many lives his monstrous actions have affected . Once his children are old enough to comprehend all that he had done they will be even more devastated . And he really thought he would get away with it .

I realise that some do but if those kids read this I want them to know, as a person who suffered immense trauma myself (i am diagnosed with c-ptsd) That they are not simply destined to be like him, to become monsters. They may well be the most empathetic people you could come across. Yes trauma affects you for the rest of your life but usually it's us that suffer, from it not causing others to suffer. Often when people experience great pain themselves they can't help but become more aware of others potential suffering and go out of their way not to cause any themselves.. 😔

I was just reading today in fact about serial killer Danny Rolling, who suffered a traumatic home life under the abusive tyranny of a police officer father. In his case at least If anything it made him gravitate towards even more violence. He committed among the most heinous murders ever seen when he went on a killing spree murdering 5 University of Florida students over just a few days in late Aug 1990. He violently attacked & raped 3 of the 4 women, murdering them w/the huge K-bar military style knife used in the attacks. He then posed their corpses in provocative positions for police to find. He even decapitated the one victim, placing her head on a shelf facing her headless body. The scary thing is 1 year prior I actually lived at the Gatorwood Apts where some of the murders took place just 1 wing over. The one girl's male roommate was also overpowered & killed w/the K-bar. Rolling was such a sick individual it really defies description, but thankfully he was executed in 2006 by a comaratively too humane lethal injection. But at least no parole for him & he will never kill again!

I'm glad he was given a whole-life sentence. Being in prison as a cop, for life, is a better punishment than the death penalty. However, it will never bring Sarah back, which is the real tragedy. He also harmed relations between the public and police further than ever, perhaps irrepairably

I remember part of her mother’s statement saying that at 9.30pm every night she silently screams to herself “NO Sarah don’t get in the car”. The pain Sarah’s family and friends go through every day is unimaginable. The first time a man exposed himself to me, I was with my sister in the subway, I was 8 and she was twelve. Now at 29, I perfectly remember his smirk as he got off the train. Throughout the years I've been catcalled, harassed and followed. In my early twenties, a gross man started jerking off next to me in the subway, I'm a very reactive and angry person, yet this was so shocking all I could manage to do is get up and move away from him (he's lucky he hasn't met me today or that I didn't have a coffee with me, I would've emptied it on his fucking face). I believe I have seen the jerking-off guy in the subway a few other times, clearly, that's one of the places where he commits this vile act. He also most likely did the same thing to one of my friends. The police and justice system need to understand that men who do such things are repeat offenders and the gravity of their crimes can escalate and reach horrible levels, as it did here with Sarah. That poor young woman, she was so beautiful and looked like such a kind person. All of this is so unfair. No one deserves to go like this.

When he first started asking her questions and then told her that he was arresting her that's when she should have called 999 and told them that she didn't like the way he was behaving and that she was requesting them to send another officer . .. maybe she could have done that before he could have tried to stop her and maybe it would have scared him and thrown him off balance . About 4 years ago I was pulled over by a police officer when I was driving alone around midnight . I didn't like the way he was acting and I called 911 here in America and ask them to send another police officer which they did . What was Sarah Everard to do when arrested by a serving police officer, displaying a genuine Metropolitan Police warrant card? She did what most law abiding females would do - she obeyed, believing she could trust the police. And she was handcuffed, abducted, raped and murdered by that pervert. There's only one thing more dangerous than a sexual predator - a sexual predator with police powers. Cressida Dick had to go for multiple reasons. Firstly, Wayne Couzens (known to his colleagues as The Rapist), operated on her watch - what's more, he thrived, and became more depraved and dangerous on her watch. It isn't acceptable that she tried to claim he was simply one rotten apple in a sea of good 'uns - the underlying sexism in the force his vile crimes revealed, told its own sinister story. How many more potential Wayne Couzens are there in police uniform right now? The Met was clearly a deeply misogynistic organisation under her watch (this video didn't even mention Couzens' revolting macho text/sex chats with colleagues about female officers, and sharing of online porn etc). While Cressida Dick can't be held solely responsible for her officers' inappropriate conduct, there's no evidence she did anything to acknowledge, least of all tackle the serious issue of misogyny in the force. Equally shocking was Cressida Dick's disastrous mishandling of the demonstration by women against male violence. That such an event should have featured ugly scenes of male police officers manhandling and handcuffing female protesters - after one had done exactly that to Sarah Everard before raping and murdering her - beggars belief! If Cressida Dick was any kind of leader worthy of the name, she would have firmly instructed her officers to use a kid glove approach, and only take such action as the very last resort should violence erupt. Those women were not violent. They were angry at the murder of another woman by a serving police officer, and they were bloody well right to be!

If he had, you can be sure the royal-obsessed British press would have written reams about it (with photos, if any existed!) The media made much of the fact Couzens was with the 'Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command' ('PDPC'), whose armed officers guard the Palace of Westminster/Houses of Parliament, the parliamentary estate in the heart of London with the highest security status (comprising the House of Commons, House of Lords, Westminster Hall, St Stephens Chapel and Big Ben). But in fact Wayne Couzens spent most of his time in a far less prestigious environment, patrolling foreign embassy buildings. 'PDPC' officers have a strong anti terrorism brief, so carrying a firearm is crucial. Many people were shocked that a man of Couzens' criminal depravity had cleared the various hurdles necessary to join the British police, and found a safe haven within that organisation. More concerning still, are the multiple allegations of sexual crimes against him that were reported to police but never even investigated. The earliest of these sexual allegations was made back in 2002 and was on his record - but despite supposed background checks and vetting, it didn't stop him being accepted as a special constable. His sexual offending continued once he had become a full time, armed police officer. In 2015 a fellow motorist dialled 911 and reported seeing him driving around Kent naked from the waist down. Kent Police took no further action over the incident. Three allegations were made against Couzens, just 2 weeks before he abducted and murdered Sarah Everard. It was alleged he exposed himself and masturbated in a McDonalds Restaurant in front of female staff on two occasions on 28th January 2021. And just 72 hours before the 3rd March murder of Sarah Everard, he again exposed himself at a fast food restaurant, and was again reported to police, along with his vehicle registration details. The correct procedure when such an allegation is made against a serving police officer, is that they are immediately suspended from duties while an investigation is launched. The now former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick, played the Wayne Couzens scandal in an all too predictable way. She claimed he was merely a lone bad apple, a freak, a one-off aberration, who by some utterly random and never to be repeated fluke, found himself not only wearing a police uniform and wielding police powers, but also carrying a powerful firearm while serving the nation's most high security section of the capital city. If only that were true - in reality Couzens' rise up the ranks of a horrible macho organisation was only too understandable! True, his horrific kidnap, rape and murder of a female member of the public was thankfully a very rare event in the history of the British police. But his hateful, sexualised and predatory view of the female sex was already prevalent among his fellow officers - as those umpteen toxic, text, Whatsapp and email messages prove. In the wake of the flawed investigation into the racist, 1993 murder of black teen Stephen Lawrence, police were subjected to a major investigation into 'institutionalised racism' in the force. The 1999 MacPherson Report was extensive, and found evidence of multiple police failings in serving its non-white citizens. There have been calls for a similar investigation into institutionalised misogyny in the police, but those calls have been ignored. Misogyny is not a victimless crime, far from it. Misogyny brutally ends the lives of countless women and girls around the globe, every single year. Yet misogyny is still not legally recognised as a hate crime, and still isn't taken seriously - not even by civilised, democratic societies. Sexism certainly isn't taken anywhere near as seriously as racism rightly is. There simply isn't a cultural appetite to subject the police to scrutiny on this issue, and make it face sanctions for its misogyny. But there should be! After the 2021 kidnap, rape and murder of a female citizen by a serving police officer, now more than ever police misogyny within the ranks should be acknowledged by police leaders, and subjected to the forensic examination of a public enquiry. In a country where two females are killed every week at the hands of a man, women and girls need to feel confident they can trust male law enforcement officers. Serving policeman Wayne Couzens' murder of Sarah Everard, the total lack of action by police over multiple reports of his previous sexual offending against women, and the dark internet history between him and his colleagues, confirms they cannot. Only one thing presents a bigger potential danger to a female, than a male - and that's a male with police powers.

The police should know by now that often peeping Toms, panty pinchers and exposers often go on to much more serious offenses. It's not a laughing matter. These subhumans usually have long strings of offenses behind them that have never been reported. Many victims don't bother because they believe the police are ineffectual in solving these crimes. Because of your situation with needing to hike prior to sunrise I sincerely trust you are not wearing earbuds, do have a lovely can of bear spray with you, use a walking stick and best of all have a large, four-legged companion to accompany you. I was followed home once after a midnight screening of Harry Potter and I almost jumped in a taxi but thought no, it'll be fine to walk. As he followed me and started touching my arm as I got near my house, all I kept thinking was "you are so stupid why have you done this, I can't believe I have done this, oh my God" - I know that's what Sarah would have been thinking that entire long car ride in handcuffs. Even getting into a taxi with a lone man is scary. I generally would rather cycle on my bike to avoid a male pedestrian attacking me. I normally avoid taxies with men. The other day I had no choice but to take a taxi with a lone man. I felt uncomfortable. My boyfriend took a photo of the taxi driver and the reg number before I took the taxi. Even when I past woodland on the taxi I wondered if the man would kill me and I would end up in that woodland. Just because a man is licensed taxi driver doesnt mean he still won't be a predator. I know a lot of those “do this or that tips to not get nabbed”. It has been drilled into me since I was a young girl. It’s incredibly sad and unfortunate that I can’t go for a walk or run without my large dog in order to feel safe. Thank you for covering this case in detail. I live in London and have never really felt safe here even when walking with my dogs. It’s awful that as women we always have to be one step ahead in order to just make the journey home. I think the problem is systemic within our society as a whole. Last year I was travelling early in the morning to the airport via a taxi for a conference. A male friend of mine stayed over and travelled with me and as we got to the airport, some of my male colleagues immediately started gossiping about my “real” relationship with my friend and that it was “weird” that we travelled together so early in the morning. And then it dawned on me that of course that’s what they would think. Because they have absolutely no idea what it’s like to not feel safe alone with strange men even when in a business setting. They don’t have to think about covering every possible angle to just make it to the final destination without harm. All they worry about is some juicy gossip. And that really pissed me off. Most women I know (myself included) have been sexually assaulted to some degree throughout their life. I felt so guilty and blamed myself for trusting and vowed to never do this again. How are we supposed to meet people when we are fundamentally programmed to not trust anyone and essentially applying the “guilty until proven innocent” logic? I know many decent men who’d never do anything to hurt women. And I feel for them because people like Wayne Couzens make it harder for them not to be tarnished with the same brush, whilst always feeling guilty and terrible that their female partners, family and friends don’t feel safe because of other men. We need a change in educating young boys and showing them by example how to treat women and girls. Why should women be told to not walk home alone? How about telling men to not rape and kill anyone on their night out? It’s just f*cked up.

Not raping and killing people is pretty self explanatory. You've said it yourself, 99% of men do nothing like this their entire lives. You won't stop this by telling children it's not okay to rape women, because those who are deranged to do this in the first place don't listen to advice. This problem will never go away, there is literally no solution to this. Men are just born stronger physically and any man who takes it upon himself to harass and kill women as some sort of power trip won't stop from fear of consequence. They know they'll go to jail but they do it anyway. The onus HAS to be on the women to learn to protect themselves. There is nothing we as a society can do to prevent this. This is my honest opinion about it. You can wait for a toddler to be old enough to understand and tell them ' we'll shoot you if you ever touch a woman' and some will do it anyway. We can't even stamp out racism, after 500 years.

Those can be, in my opinion, taught that hurting women isn’t ok and if they see it at home but hear at school that it is wrong, maybe, just maybe, something in them will stop the cycle of abuse. This case stuck with me for a long time when I first heard about it. It truly broke my heart. Seeing the footage of her in the convenience store, before it happened, just living her life and having a normal night with no idea of the horror that was to come. And then some selfish, monstrous, pathetic sack of sh*t uses his authority to trick her. Her hands were cuffed, she had no way to defend herself. What a coward Wayne Couzens is. He has to dominate a small girl with her hands behind her back. I think about the moment she started to panic when she realized something was wrong. He probably told her just to cooperate and she’d be fine. And then to actually use his police belt to kill her…just…disgusting. He’s one of the dumbest criminals in existence. He went to London doing “research” a month before the crime for the perfect way to carry it out, and he’s a cop, so you’d think he’d know what to do and what not to do. Fortunately, he’s an idiot and left an evidence trail a mile long, so at least her family could find her and at least he was caught and sent away for good. He’s a cop in prison, so I truly hope he gets ganged every day for the rest of his miserable life. His poor wife and kids. Sarah’s poor family. And poor Sarah, she was a bright light extinguished way too soon. Her life was literally stolen from her. But she seemed to touch a lot of lives while she was alive and even now. She will not be forgotten. I’m writing this from America, we were horrified by this just as much as Britain.

I have a family member in the met police and when this case was being investigated, he said that Sarah had probably been rude to Wayne as if that's a reason to rape and murder. They all make excuses for each other and encourage this disgusting behaviour.
