I remember 1 time I called the cops and they said if I press charges one my ex, they will press charges on me from allowing my infant daughter to be in the abusive situation and they would give her to CPS. They told me to go in the house and work it out. No one helped me until I was left in a ditch on the side of the road, and he left state with my daughter. All charges, but simple DV were dropped and he spent 70 days in jail, but with the plea agreement I got full custody and his rights taken. We are okay now. Katrina's story is one of redemption on a Biblical scale. Showcasing the power of words to impart life or death. Her grandmother telling her to stay. Her Dr saying she'd never walk again. But where many failed, there was always one who didn't. Her physical therapist telling her she would recover fully. The 20 year old who brought her to the hospital. Her lawyer, blind with a righteous anger, fighting on her behalf when no one else would. One of the worst things that could have happened, getting kicked out of her attacker's mother's home, turned out to be the best thing for her. In this lowest place, she began to find her own identity, independance, inner strength and will to fight - essential to the powerful person she is today. Nothing else could have forged the internal fortitude she gained through her hardship and no one can ever take it from her. This is truly inspiring. ❤

He let me go with (what it seemed like) fear in his eyes... I left after that with the blessing of all of my children (including my "forever" stepkids), his mom, his sister & my parents. Never looked back. After couple more bs relationships & tons of bs because of their own insecurities -- I chose to remain single... still am to this very day. I'm much more content. 💯 Best wishes to everyone ❤

@@alex-qd6ofI don't think she left the kids, she left him and the relationship with the everyone's blessing including the kids ,most kids want their parents together and blame the mom when the family is broken apart instead of trying to see what happened to make it that way, when it could have been life or death (this being a prime example of that). I have seen with my own eyes families making excuses for the abuser telling the women (almost begging them) to stay with their sons it's crazy they will get mad when they would call the police or even talk to anyone about it, because "it was family business" I unfortunately have learned about verbal, emotional and mental abuse but it's not serious like physical so it's ignored,jokes made, they egg on the BS and any time you say anything to stand up villain, so you think there is no point, everything you say/do is wrong so getting the blessing she doesn't have to get it but it makes things easier, the constant blaming you and guilting you into stay because you misunderstanding things or need to get over things glad her family gave/became her support because without it gathering strength to leave can be hard

Katrina, honey your story is heartbreaking. I'm glad you survived. So sorry that you lost your son. Alex is a disturbed, discusting individual. His mom is just a diplorable person.... What her son did was NOT right. Police need to 🛑 STOP covering for one another, when they commit a crime nail them for their illegal actions!!!!!!!!!

One of the worst cases is Chief Brame of the west coast (Seattle Washington) somewhere who made his wife stand naked on the scale each morning to make sure she didn't gain ANY weight, timed her when she went shopping and counted the change. He later murdered her, then himself in broad daylight in Gig Harbor in front of their young kids.

There is no god. You're talking nonsense. She's just a pillar of strength. A god deserves no credit. She did this herself.

Katrina survived because of her own strength and love for her children, not because of a clever system designed by ancient oligarchs to foster obedience for their serfs. Katrina is amazing and I salute her.

Why did they not test the second woman's hands for gunshot residue? That could have made it an open and shut case either way....

Why don't the government look after women with kids like they do in the UK?
@alex-qd6of3 ай бұрын
Because of the right wing, mostly. They only care about children, until they're born.

I am sitting here stunned and in tears. So many of us have experienced our hells… most do nothing to help others should they be lucky enough to make it out. And none are near as grave - that I have personally heard of - then this beautiful, black queen’s. Katrina? You. You are. You didn’t have to be and you did anyways. I’m so proud of you. Thank you for sharing your story.. it so through our stories that we connect and intimacy is created. I wish I knew you or had the chance to know you and thank you. Cheers, Queen. You fought the good fight. Xo from Chicago.
