Our family friend married us for free and his wife did our photos, my dress was like $120 (but I got it altered to fit), and it was just our parents and siblings then a bigger family dinner after. The wedding is for 1 day & for everyone else. The marriage is for the two of you. 3-5K is more than enough to have a beautiful gown a really nice ceremony and a reception for close family and a few friends. We had a simple ceremony and used the excess money to put a down payment on our house - and then invited people over to a nice BBQ party in the backyard after we moved in.

We got married in 2014 we went to the courthouse with our children and some of our family members lol we then took our children to breakfast afterwards. We drop the kids off at my inn laws and went home and I through this ass in the air for a while and we took a nap lol. We got up and went to dinner (reception dinner) with some family members and later got on a party boat in our city with some of our family and friends (reception party) lol we had a very long day, and we enjoyed our day! We took the money we didn't spend on a big wedding and bought our first home as a family together in cash $10,000 we had saved this money together. We bought a fixer upper and fix it up and started our lives together. This year we will celebrate 9 yr wedding anniversary 13 yrs together. We have since bought 3 more properties 4 all together and a box truck business 2 Airbnb's and group home that we run out of our rental properties. We still haven't had a wedding or a honeymoon. But we are still together and happily married. Maybe in year 10 we might have a wedding and honeymoon maybe lol.

What my husband and I did was… Bought our dream house and while home was still empty… We set our home up as a reception party with a big BBQ pit in the backyard. It was an absolutely beautiful setup! We saved a little over $8000 doing it this way and we where so happy to create more memories in our first home. Few days later… We went to the city we met, and had a beautiful photo shoot done in all the place that were special to us. I wouldn’t have changed our plans for the world ❤❤
