just asking because I've never been to China, do people there speak english? i can't speak chinese, if i travel there will it be a hustle ? i can learn basic thankyou sorry, but to have conversation is very hard 😂

most people Cannot Speak English, you can use translate

In major cities like Shanghai, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue, but if you’re heading to other places, Google Translate will definitely come in handy!
