Congratulations! My son’s white coat ceremony, CC 19’, was virtual because of COVID, but exciting nonetheless. He’s now in his 3d year and living in the Bronx, grinding away at his rotations around the city. I’m sure you make your parents very proud. I know my son fills me with pride.

@@CarolineChen , oh he’s not at Columbia Med. He’s at NYMC. Columbia was undergrad. He did well but he didn’t get no %100 on the MCAT. He’s just happy to be in med school. Good luck to you. You’re awesome.

It’s so interesting to see how Columbia starts off. My school had a week of onboarding lectures and stuff like hippa training and just fun group things to get to know each other and our advisors. The white coat ceremony was at the end of that week and we only had actual classes start the following week. Columbia seems to have combined it all and thrown y’all straight in lol

Found your channel when I was looking for MCAT study tips. I figured I'd ask a question seeing as you are starting Med School. What is the age range in your classes? I'm considering going to going to Med School, but I'm much older than most Med students. I also come from a very different background experience-wise, since I spent most of my adult life in the Middle East, South America and Africa working for the military or private companies. Similarly, I have no interest in working within the US healthcare system. If I did go to Med School, it would be with the goal of going to work overseas again for MSF or another, similar group. The chance to scholarship for Med School is a great opportunity, but I'm not sure it would be the best fit for me. What do you think as someone who just started?

Don’t worry about age at all. Just enjoy being a med student. Trust me, NOBODY cares about your age.
