The sentiment about Instagram/Tik Tok "you spend hours consuming other people's lives and wasting your own" how true is that...Really enjoyed the chat about becoming your higher self!

Don’t feel bad about not tipping. It’s getting ridiculous everywhere. Employers are expecting customers to make up for the money they don’t want to cough up. 🙄

I totally agree with the whole tipping thing. It's gotten ridiculous in Canada. The whole point of tipping is for the service provided. I give a little tip for delivery if i get take out but I'm not going in to eat, specifically because I don't want the service so I'm not going to tip for it. I wouldn't tip for a drive through coffee either!

Really loved this week in the life - and thank you for sharing Tika with us! 🥰❤️😊☺️ Adorable! I'm organizing my bathroom this week and purging stuff I'll never use. Gratitude is essential to mental and spiritual health. I tip twenty percent at a restaurant but the drive through is ridiculous. However it's becoming the new normal. Thank you for an informative video and hugs to you and Tika! Plus your hair is looking lovely lately! ☺️😊🥰❤️🌴🦩☀️🥰

My husband and I talk about the excessive tipping culture all the time. There was a grocery store where we used to live and there was a tipping screen that would come up at checkout. It was like omg I literally got my own groceries and you just rang me up what the heck? We only do it at restaurants

I don’t tip for that either lol awkward but wtv 🤷‍♀️ I only do it at restaurants where I’m sitting down and getting served

In reference to the Starbucks tipping- absolutely not. My hubby and I experienced this just last week at our own Starbucks drive through. We sat in line for X number of minutes waiting, so hard pass on that. I believe tipping culture is out of control, so I've had to become quite comfortable skipping/declining this option when presented to me at walk up services (from the US btw).

I mean no offense to people working in the food industry. But the tipping system means they’re not getting paid enough for their job and employers are relying to customers to fill that gap. If we promote tipping, sooner it will be mandated like in most establishments in the US. Already considering the prices of the items, adding tip is just too much. The companies’ executives get ridiculous amount of money, employers should be able to allot some of that to the rank and file.

There are restaurants where I live that don't have tipping and instead pay their employees above minimum wage, give health and financial benefits, and paid sick days. There is no a fight for the high volume days because you make the same prepping stations and wrapping cutlery on a slow tuesday afternoon as you do on a busy saturday night. There's no competition amongst servers for regular clients who are better tippers or "thats my section". And if they need to take a day off, getting the shift covered is much easier. It's gotten rediculous that patrons of a business are expected to offset with 20+% tipping the shitty pay that the restaurant industry allows, all while the owners and operating businesses get to use salaries as a business expense to offset revenues. Servers often have multiple jobs to just live and it is my opinion that if you work 40 hours a week for any business that you should be able to afford to live.

From WA state and when it comes to coffee specifically when tipping I am more likely to tip at an Espresso Stand because it is a local business versus Starbucks is a corporate company. Not that I don't think the barista at Starbucks deserves a tip, but since Starbucks is corporate I am unsure if the tips are actually going to them, idk I question that

I love tipping but I go to Starbz every day so I feel like I have to tip every single time. I have the app and sometimes forget to use it, if you use the app, they don’t ask to tip. Your skin looks awesome. Xoxo

I only when tip the service was amazing and the waiters paid me enough attention whether when I’m placing my orders or when they are bringing my food. Some don’t even put the on my table properly. Otherwise I’ll never tip.

I pay with my Starbucks card so the app doesn’t prompt me to tip until after I’ve left the drive thru lol I don’t tip at Starbucks, Tim Hortons, or any fast food/drive thru place. It’s not like a restaurant where they make a server’s wage and their tips are meant to make up the difference between that and minimum wage or higher.

Also for what it’s worth, I’ve seen Starbucks employees complaining about the tip option on the Starbucks subreddit lol lots of them say they just hit “no tip” before even handing it to the customer to avoid the awkwardness!

Yes, I’d tip in the Starbucks drive through. What’s the difference between the level of effort and service compared to when you’re at the register? I’d say it’s the same, if not more.

Places of employment should pay a lieabke wage instead of guilting customers into paying more for little to no service.. it's a money grab and everyone needs to see it as that. Unless they actually provide some type of service directly to you such as waiting a table or your hairdresser, nail tech. Etc there is no reason to be tipping.
