Watching this video really inspired me to embrace my natural texture. I notice that I’m constantly trying to force my hair to look like a looser texture than I have. Also I am an actress and it’s been a real struggle with this new natural hair thing for me because my headshots are with straight hair and I wasn’t quite ready to take headshots with my type 4 fro. Your hair is so full and healthy and beautiful. That should truly be what kinkier textures aspire for.

**Apologies for the technical difficulty with the voiceover from around **3:46** - **5:22** :( it was an oversight when I uploaded. It goes back to normal right after that!)** Hey loves! So, in a recent survey, I asked you all to complete, I got a lot of feedback that people would like to see a “Week in My Natural Hair” type video. So, I decided to oblige! I had a few things going on last week and thought it’d be fun for you all to see the process. The good hair days, the bad hair moments, and how I go to sleep at night. I keep my routine pretty low maintenance because I feel natural hair should just flourish-and who has the time to re-style it several times a week?! I hope you all enjoy, I had a lot of fun putting this one together! Also, shout out to my giveaway winner Mira who will be receiving the DevaCurl Super Stretch Coconut Curl Elongator, congrats! This Ghanaian teacher at skl told me she wishes her 5 year old daughter had that "good" textured hair like mine(my hair is like 3c).She also said her daughters hair is too nappy and coarse to deal with so she just relaxed it. I just remember feeling so awkward and not knowing what to say as I'm only 14. I mostly just felt for the little girl who probably thinks her hair is ugly. I wish we could just get rid of the whole idea of good/bad hair as all hair types are equally as beautiful. I just hope this idea dies out before I'm old enough to have a little girl/boy of my own with beautiful hair no matter the texture.

Where do you buy the thin hair tie that holds your hair back? I like that it's so thin. Thanks

Hey, I'm getting in to looking after my natural hair. Can I do all this but put my hair in a ponytail at night?
@itsamegg4 жыл бұрын
And if i did this year round would my hair still grow? thanks btw :)
@AishaBeau4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I think a loose ponytail is okay, or a high pineapple style with a loose headband is best to not put too much tension

This was such a refreshing video to watch because you kept things very simple and that's what I usually do but I do twist outs because my hair in a wash n go state is prone to single strand knots, do you have any advice for that?
@AishaBeau5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate it. Someone else actually mentioned single strand nots, and for those of us with Type 4 hair they can be inevitable so wash and go's don't always last as long as say a twist out, rod set or braid out. My best advice is to detangle continuously as you are applying the product when doing your wash and go, make sure you are coating the strands indvidually as much as possible. Also, try to moisturize continuously. As you see in the video, I applied oil to my strands at night and in the morning. This can lessen it but again because of our hair texture it's bound to happen.
