I just visited only Warsaw and Krakow on a tour, and I want to go back. Attended Polish festival at Old Town Krakow. Very nice people. Whenever we got lost on the streets, very nice people approached us with help. Also, prices pretty good with American dollar. Did Schindler's factory museum also. Sad history, but strong people.

Polish people are our brothers and sisters they originated from the mighty and numerous people of Baltic Serbs-Wends-Wenden--Vendi-Vandi-Veneti, who have been through centuries, unfortunately, assimilated and exterminated by Germans. Most of today's German towns and provinces as well as towns and provinces in most of the Poland and Czech Republic were originally established and inhabited by Serbs (German call them Sorben-Wenden), they used to be a native Aboriginals of Europe. Speaker made a mistake when he said a "Pre-Slavic" settlement all those settlements were already Slavic-Serbian-Wenden at that time in 7 century BC. Frankish Empire destroyed Baltic Serbs and divided them into new Slavic peoples: Poles, Czechs, Slovakian and Lusatian Serbs etc... Wends-Serbs are now just a minority of 100 000 peoples in Germany and remaining of us survived in the Balkans and we are additionally divided into other several new nations, unfortunately...

Władysław Bukowski More accurately he's a communist ass licker. The city was liberated in 1945??? It was 'liberated' into communist repression, he seems to love the synagogues too. What his next tour stop the old communist headquarters? Is he going to tell the viewer how much culture there is behind that?

Wystarczyło mi posłuchać początku z preslavic settlement i decent ancestors of today's Poles, żeby sobie darować.

It is very likely that Mieszko I in 966 just swapped one type of christianity, the so called arianism, for another, the Roman-style one, favoured by his powerful neighbours from the west. Arianism was present in Eastern and Central Europe already in the 5th century, when proto-Slavic tribes from that part of Europe, such as Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Vandals and Alans rushed to attack the Roman Empire, bringing their fair version of christianity into Rome and provinces. Vandals persisted with arianism (and opposed the Catholic Church) to the very end and this is why these gentle and talented people are so badly and unfairly described today by the history.

Hopefully by the time I am ready to retire and come back to Poland it will be diminished to the small fraction. Let's hope, at least.

+Ralph Houweling Gdansk is one of oldest cities in Poland. Founded by the Polish ruler Mieszko I in the 10th century, the city was for a long time part of Piast state either directly or as a fief. In 1308 the city became part of the Monastic State of the Teutonic Knights until the 15th century. Thereafter it became part of Poland again, although with increasing autonomy. A vital naval city for Polish grain trade it attracted people from all over the European continent, including Germans and Scots. The city was taken over by Prussia during the Second Partition of Poland in 1793 .....according to Maria Babnis (1989) the majority of the population in the city spoke both Polish and German and spoken language didn't determine national identity.[31] After the partition the city's inhabitants demonstrated their resentment towards Prussia, with some, like Arthur Schopenhauer's family, choosing emigration.[32] An attempt of student uprising against Prussia led by Gottfried Benjamin Bartholdi was crushed quickly by the authorities in 1797.[33][34][35] The migration processes that happened after Prussia took over the city diminished the usage of Polish language and structure of population.[
