I am in awe at your negative collage's . I struggle with using those pieces in a way that isnt so basic...that first negative collage was brilliant!

I bet you're just being hard on yourself! Here are some tips for negative collages: I try to add one or two things that aren't "negatives" to try and provoke a meaning from within the pieces I have collected / add complimenting colours. A lot of it too is having a strong sense of composition. Have you done abstract painting or photography? Think of it like framing a picture and wanting the eye to have a focal point while also creating movement and provoking a feeling. This means one point needs high contrast and the other parts need to lead your eye around the piece. Hope this helps. These are things I think about while making a negative collage.

So interesting to see the process. It really is a creative exercise for your brain trying to fit the 'puzzle' pieces together and tell an artistic, visual story. I'm also glad you included the 'starts to panic' phase when nothing is working. (I've had a few of those moments, too 😄) But then, BAM, jackpot 21:24 . Lovely work. I think the negative collage pieces can add an interesting element, too.

Sorry to tell you, but “litten” is NOT a word! The past tense of light (a candle) is LIT, as in “I lit a candle. . . “ You are most welcome! Grammar gaffe aside, it WAS fun to watch you play Beat the Collage Clock. You have a lot of vintage ads to work with, which makes the end result richer, don’t you think?

Mine, too! It’s almost as if the teacups were MEANT to be swapped with the couple’s heads ; I think the illustrator would approve!

The happy blonde lady dressed in yellow was Martha Mitchell who was married to President Nixon's attorney general. During the Watergate scandal she made comments about it which led her being called "crazy" which she wasn't

Thank you for this context. It sounds like I've done her dirty then 😭 making her into lice. Maybe it adds a layer of absurdity.

Julia Robert's played her in a series. It was brilliant and unrecognizable, Sean Penn played her husband. Horrid man

Hi I’ve been enjoying watching your Chanel. I was wondering if you could answer a question sense you collect old magazines Do you ever have trouble with a old smell coming from them and do you think that’s a problem. I have a lot of old books I’ve been collecting to do my college and they just have a little. Old smell to them and I was wondering if that could cause a health problem

Hi Brenda, so happy you have been enjoying my videos. This question is definitely a tricky one. For me, I am guilty of liking the smell of them. 😆 As for if they are bad for you, my answer is a little complex. Yes, technically being around mildew I am sure is not great for health. However, if you indulge in sugary treats, scented candles, or use chemical filled cleaning products and detergents; these are all arguably worse for your health. You've got to pick your battles on what is worth it for you. There are far greater risks to your wellbeing than old books.
