wow, I was always curious about rez food in terms of variety/options and price. thank you for going through all of your meals, one by one and breaking down the price in an easy to follow way. I definitely feel more informed about the decisions I should be making next year. :^)

Thanks! That was my goal with the video. Glad to hear it helped!

I'm glad to see that you're relying on yourself for some foods that are easier to cook - we don't eat unwashed rice here. especially since it's a little harder to go out and buy prepared food, one of the most important skills to have right now is basic cooking.

Yes! It's definitely important to learn this beforehand so we don't end up relying on expensive takeout in the future!

Wait when you include the prices these foods, is it included in the meal plan otherwise you pay for it
@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
Hey! At the beginning of the year you pay a set amount for your meal plan. With that amount, you have a balance that is subtracted from (hence the prices I mention). When that amount runs out you can add more money to it at www.mealplan.uwo.ca/topup/ Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

Did u find that the meal plan was enough to cover you for all 3 meals, 7 days a week or did u find yourself making lots of food?
@Martin_Leung3 жыл бұрын
It's enough, usually I just cook rice and buy things like fruits (ie avocadoes) to eat as well because it's cheaper to buy it at the grocery stores compared to res

I also brought in a huge pack of nuts as a snack (which I only eat a bit of at a time)

*note: I brought oatmeal from home in case I ever wanted to eat breakfast (just threw in a banana and peanut butter for that---I made a video on it for some reason LOL)

@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
LOL I haven't! As long as you watch the amount you eat and keep up with being active, then there's nothing to worry about!

They clean the rooms for u in uni??
@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
I believe it depends on where you go. For Ontario Hall at Western University, they clean your room every 2 weeks (they will not touch the areas that your stuff sits on). I'm not sure if other university residences have this service.
@arvinabedi2914 жыл бұрын
Martin Leung coool!! Also great video I really liked it. Res food looks really good!
@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
At Western University, all residences are cleaned biweekly, but suite styles (Essex and Elgin Hall) are cleaned once a month. However, I cannot speak for other universities.
@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That means a lot! There are definitely "better" (subjectively) looking food at the dining hall, it just doesn't fit into what I'd eat on the regular haha

THERE IS SO MUCH PLASTIC PACKAGING! >:(
@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, besides the veggie wraps the green plastic box thingies are washed and reused!
@Martin_Leung4 жыл бұрын
Though I do dislike the fact that the wraps and stuff are in plastic and not a paper bag of some sort...
