A perfect example of a man who grew up with little physical possessions but gained a great amount of knowledge. Take note all the materialistic youngsters out there (our future to be).. you don't exactly need those stupidly priced headphones or tablets to be successfully minded.. you just need to have the willpower to differentiate and excel, after all.. this man is way ahead of his peers that he grew up with. Take notes.
@anpdm18 жыл бұрын
Where did you get the idea that he grew up with few possessions?
@anpdm18 жыл бұрын
The information might be new to some people but for others like my parents, this information was known. Thanks to the internet, those with access to tablets can find the info for themselves. Why would you believe he's ahead of his peers instead of also learning from his peers? Hopefully you've taken note.

***** what are you, the thought police? He grew up in a inner city council house, and to be quite frank it's well known he wasn't exactly flossing in materialistic goods growing up.. hence why I said a few possessions.. should I have said a few physical possessions instead? So being ahead of one's peers is an automatic assumption that you can't also learn from them? I think you need to assume less.. no offence to his clique.. his neighbourhood brothers etc. But I'm not the only one to say this, put his intelect up against one of his home boys, even they would agree Akala is on a different level to them.. that doesn't mean I'm calling others around him stupid, no he's just invested his time more wisely than others. Which ways can't we have both of?? Doesn't mean anything. Sarcasm doesn't prove any case. Demonstrating colonial hypocrisy doesn't prove his theory. Why would current Egyptology be part of a conspiracy to deny the "real truth" that native Egyptians were of dark skinned subsaharan type while accepting that they were not of European descent anyway? Racism and colonialism collapse in either case. Think with your brain not with your guts. Just because an presentation is nicely presented doesn't make it correct.

Mauritania, Cartridge - what these Europeans called the Barbary states cause they didn't speak their corrupt Latin. Dido, who was a Phoenician Canaanite, black woman from Tyre, Sidon established Cartridge with along with black Hebrews. Contrary to the corrupt wiki, she wasn't a European, Greek. A lot of the Arab & Hebrew moors came out of this region. Hannibal, who was originally from Libya - then it was all black people. These same people from this region not only conquered the Iberian Peninsula also moved into the Isles of Briton, Ireland, Wales, Scotland. Here they were now called Silures. When they went there they saw the first inhabitants of those islands Eutherians, Minoans. These people were also black, descendants of Japheth. These are just a few, I left out a lot regarding where you're from. You've to interrogate your history by using old books to learn the truth. Most of these contemporary books after the first world war are filled with lies. FYI. Europeans are not white, they're red, let's get that on the record. Black people are not black - various shades of brown. Plus, so-called blacks are actually groups of nations, Hamites, Cushites, Hebrews, Phut etc. Anyway, the Redman put their faces n into our books to suppressed African excellence n pushed his lies to brainwash the world cuz of his anxiety, fear knowing that we ruled them for a thousand years in Europe.

I just disagree a little about the mud huts. My aunts still live in them, it's a sustainable way of living and i really hope it persists over skyscrapers. You can be intelligent and modern and live in a mud hut the same as you can be ignorant and old fashioned in a skyscraper.
@globalcetzen52714 жыл бұрын
@rue80, I agree. Mud huts are still steadier and more resistant to severe weather conditions than those plastics western buildings. There are 400 year old mud huts in Ghana today. Despite that, we remain the experts and only authentic Masons in the world. Everywhere we went, we taught masonry skills. Every stone and mortar building/monument in America was built by Afrikan slaves because, they carried their masonry skills with them. Europeans have ‘Builders’, we have Chief Masons who work with apprentices. This practice is still ongoing in Ghana, Nigeria, and many other Afrikan nations. In Afrika, Young men are sent into apprenticeship by their fathers after fees are paid. They are equipped with tools like trowels, plain, level, mortar pans, spades etc. They graduate after completing practical tests of mixing mortar, grading various sand textures, stones, pebbles, used for block- cutting, and which ones were appropriate for plastering and finishing. They also pass tests in digging/setting concrete foundations for a wall and a single/storey house/ how to set intricate pillars, as well as displaying brick/block cutting skills. As a child, I usually watched the Chief Mason, his apprentice and labourers, my parents hired to maintain and improve our properties. I was very fascinated by their skills and precision, even though I was female. Wherever Black people reside, masonry skills abound. Afrikans in Jamaica and other Caribbean nations, are very skilled Masons because it is within them.

while i thoroughly agree with this, i believe the point is that there is an over projection of 'mud huts' in africa as indication of lack of development. This creates the idea that there couldn't have been anything more or less in terms of development. Rather than explaining that mud huts are actually a functional and sturdy invention in direct response to the resources readily available and the weather conditions in hot and tropical climates, we get the perception that there is nothing more to africa than this. I think this is a problem. Though i completely see where you're coming from.

Well do proper research , since my young age i have always been pasionate by egyptology and this man is just a crackhead on steroids Verify the facts not on " blackpower dot com " but on reliable egyptolgy sources materials you can even visit tomb in 3d 18:78 He pretend Museum will display " Nefertiti " because she was more " NON AFRICAN LOOKING " Yet Nefertiti daughter of Akhenaton Egyptian pharaoh reigning circa 1353-1336 BC, and Nefertiti lived 1370 - c. 1330 BC 16:37 Here once again he lied ... Ramsees III or 3 actually reigned from 1186 to 1155 BC wich is almost 200 years after Akhenaton aka ( the sun worshipper pharaoh) adn century after his daughter Nefertiti wich compleatly defeat his arguments ... ALso the Picture he show off isnt the true representation of Ancient egypt races .. you have a copy and paste two time of the Nubian while the original of this as 1 Nubian black , 1 Asian white , 1 Libyan white , and 1 egyptian "redish tanned "and woman depicted as yellowish while nubian woman as dark brown and nubian males as Dark black ... These " race image " were found in Seti I tomb wich reign between with whithin the range of 1294 BC to 1279 BC or 1290 BC to 1279 BC wich again would still be holder than Ramsees III reign .. all his THeory are bollucks and the picture he show of the race as been taken from a black supremacist website propagandist ... LOOK UP all the information i have given and search in egyptology work and you will see this guy is full of shit and dont know anything of what he talk about .... Every piece of evidence we have about race proove that Egyptian were neither black african Neither white european neither Asian .. they were most likely metiss or well Mediteranean ? but their features and skin complextity was a thing ... also after the conquest of Nubia .. Nubia black have indeed adopted the cultural and way of life of the egyptian and became powerfull wich should make him happy prooved that " black african " were as capable as non black or at least partially non black egyptian .. Nubians also ruled as pharaoh for about a century but then loose power ...etc..etc.. then centurys after that Egyptian loose to persian then to roman and so on

Very interesting. In Sweden we had a big debate in the 90s regarding our image of the Vikings. The swedish kings who came after the Vikings wanted to distance them self from the Vikings. As such we had a very poor understanding of the Vikings and the best sources of the history was for a long time German, French and English sources. I recently saw a documentary about anarchism and realized I had a very poor and very biased view about what anarchism is and what their role in history was. How one of the biggest most popular human rights movements of the time could be so suppressed even though they were so important in the advancement of the workers movements and the Unions is just amazing, and its quite recent history.. And it all continues today were certain world views (opinions) are being put forth by old and new media, politicians, populist writers (blogs etc). Instead of having a open objective debate based on facts. Regarding older history it seems we lack a lot of knowledge. Especially since every effort weve made at understanding our history have been made through a "white" filter based on ideas of social darwinism. Many researchers have been and still are so indoctrinated in this world view that they cant even accept simple facts based on logical and rational thoughts or even common sense.. Reading the books by Graham Hancock or listening to Robert Bauval it becomes clear that theres is alot we dont know about history. Even more is the amount we seem to not know we dont know yet..

An awful lot of the old racial theory of history and Eurocentric history was based on bare-faced ignorance. The more you know, the more you know. Widening your interests is a choice you can make to escape ignorance, and the progress of research, like translating Malian documents, and of archaeology are developing people's understanding despite their prejudices, including among the kind of very posh, very white historians who tend to dominate history programmes on TV. And there there is definitely a need for political struggle, to force media elites to broaden their content.

I don't know how many of you will come here after a certain rapper/artist said "Slavery was a choice" but listen to this man. He will bring to light to a history that we should be ashamed of but never dismiss or forget. That when people try to water down the white washing of films tying together real concerns that hurt communities with people just being "haters," you can respond back of why white washing is hurtful. My mother was black and beloved by my older cousin but even she fell prey to this nonsense that people who brought up the obvious white washing were crying for nothing. She did not see how this could hurt people who looked just like my mother. That not only does it rob people of darker skin of roles in modern Hollywood but it erases their history and roles in the past.

+Adam Adams interesting approach to a free education. Troll so people try to teach you the error in your ways. Well, I don't mind falling for it. It seems you don't even know your white version of New Zealand history yet you choose to talk about it as if you do. When the whites first arrived they saw these 'cannibals' as civilised themselves and so chose to live alongside them at first. This was for many reasons, but even if you take the most cynical view of the situation you can see that the settlers were not superior. Having superior status is contextual and at the time the settlers were not. It seems that even as cannibals the people indigenous to New Zealand were deemed good enough to live alongside. This decision was made by the colonists themselves. You also don't seem to have an answer as to how you think all the whites in New Zealand are going to be killed.

Why? Really big question that I believe all white people (and black as well) should ask. Favorite quote: I find a lot of solace in reading, a lot of solace in acquiring great information. Its not just about therapy. Its about learning these things to inform action. As John Henrik Clarke says: "History is a map which tells people where they've been and where they need to go. I totally subscribe to this global history approach and have straight up to praise him for his forewarning on the fact some of his own prejudices could taint his exposé and case in point I'm having a few minor issues (depending on ones point of view) . First of all I must confess I shared much of the prejudice concerning ancient Egypt and was skeptical when I first heard of those claims by African friends, in my maybe lame defense that part of my curriculum had very much been driven into my head at a very young age and though I didn't have any doubts ancient Egyptians must have been quite a bit "black" for some part given the hair styles I had sort of assumed they were mainly just some shade of"brown" . The most of his exposé was however much less of a surprise for me since (and this again is somewhat self-exonerating and eventually self-serving) the rest of my "historical" notions concerning the subject at hand were mainly "self-taught" not part of my curriculum and much more motivated by contact/friction with a cosmopolitan student crowd ( shout out those need to be promoted and should be a gold standard for any academic pursuit ). I will however not pretend I was aware of the existence of all his claims but was of quite a few and none posed me any particular credibility problem . Population genomics (a field I am very slightly more academically competent in (it's been a while ) ) should pretty much clear that line of inquiry and probably mostly to the advantage of his claims . After this rather lengthy preliminary precautionary "tale" I need to state that being a Franco Brit with an unknown amount of crossbreeding apparently mainly "white" I accept I could be wrong about the issues I feel need to be raised about Akala"s exposé . Promoting the need of awareness of global history should minimally require the French and the British somehow come to terms with some notions of shared history and I find Akala badly lacking here (I might be wrong ) . II could be of course that given the recent flavor of very local geopolitics Akala deliberately chose to play on his oxford audience's anglocentric prejudices or it could be he himself is a victim of those same prejudices and alternatively it could be that I am the one blinded by my french heritage . In my book the French revolution abolished slavery in 1794 and am aware of the facts it was for one promptly reestablished by Napoleon, I think in 1802( after he conducted the failed Egyptian campaign he PR'ed as a victory ) and for the other that more importantly this abolition did not just occur because of the new French nation's "virtue" but for a very important part through the heroic militarily and politically efficacious resistance of the Haïtien enslaved population( very much similar to Akala's point about Jamaica and the English abolition) . No denial can stand as to the fact that France strangled Haïti with a leonine debt that held a crippling chokehold on the first non-racialized modern nation until very recently, however one might some doubt about both the UK's (anachronic denomination I believe) and the USA's innocence in the matter. Sorry to be so verbose but it seems to me that this very necessary rewriting of global history cannot be made at the expense of much more local historical concerns however petty they might seem in the light of such awful and massive wrongdoings . Local conflicts have a tendency do devolve into ever larger strifes for no other good reason than ignoring a facet of reality/history . .

Nubia black have indeed adopted the cultural and way of life of the egyptian and became powerfull wich should make him happy prooved that " black african " were as capable as non black or at least partially non black egyptian .. legba eshu While I would agree that for millenia racism was an accepted cultural standard, it is *not* accepted at this point. Unfortunately I slightly get the feeling that Akala has a bias which is rooted in racism. Whether white supremacist or black supremacist (or Chinese supremacist)... it shouldn't be acceptable. I do feel that it's very important to criticise racism very strongly, and that tolerating racism from victims of racist oppression is a form of endorsement of racism. There have been elements of the "black power" movement which are extremely racist. It should also be noted that the post-colonialism legacy of racist ideology resulted in the Rwanda genocide... where the hutu and tutsi groups (both west african) were erroneously convinced that they were separate races. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutu_Power The whole question of what race (or ethnicity) ancient Egyptians were is a red herring - suggesting that their social organisation and technological advancement was genetic in basis is a *rotten* and *false* argument. Black supremacism is just as much of a problem to my mind as white supremacism, and is represented by toxic groups such as the Nation of Islam, who have a bizarre and ideological rewriting of history to suit their political goals.

Now the're certainly people racially classified as "black" who engage in an racist ideology based on the amount of melanin in one skin, but these outliers don't hold public office due in part because they don't believe in participating in the political process and thus have little to no actually POWER and INFLUENCE in shaping public policy. Unlike the white supremacist. Can you see the distinction between the two extremes? They just talk and talk and talk. I suggest you address them directly instead of projecting your lazy assumptions onto this scholar. Good day sir.

Why does it of a sudden become contentious when a person of colour refutes white or western supremacy? Why is it so convenient to contend a refuting view as nonsensical bias when half the sources you read in any school history text book in the west contains whitewashed bias of history? Does it damage your history-massaged ego as a being of superior race, as painted by the misguiding history sources you were provided with in school curriculum?
