Hang out with me for a week while I sew a few pretty things for spring! In this video, I'll be sewing a few outfits to wear as a graduation guest, as well as trying on a couple of my other spring makes. My daughter and I also headed down to Connecticut for a weekend trip to visit my cousin, so I've included all of my fun, vintage flea market finds!
As always, thanks for stopping by and hanging out with me!

Hi Rachel! I just have to share, you radiate passion and giddyness, and its contagious! I'm feeling so inspired to fire up my vintage machine and start a new project. Also, you have such a grounded but light and free-spirited energy about you. It's refreshing, and a nice shift away from the craziness and political unrest happening in the world right now. The world needs more exuberant light and creativity such as what you're living and sharing. So glad that I stumbled upon your channel. You're an absolute sunshine. Best wishes! 💖

Hey thanks so much!! ☺️ I actually got a notification saying you left a comment on one of my other videos, but when I went back to respond, it wasn’t there! Sounds like our kiddos are the same age, how fun! Definitely a weeeeird time to be bringing a kid into the world though. So glad to hear you’ve been enjoying sewing! And YES figuring out which colors work has been so helpful! Thanks so much for watching! 💕

The garments you make are all so stunning.The pictures of your graduation were lovely ,although I did jump to see the cat face it is a brilliant idea to keep your daughter safe. If you burn yourself plunge it into a bowl of cold water or running cold water.Keep moving it around to make sure it is still in cold water for approximately 20 mins. You need to keep it until the skin has cooled down or it will continue to increase in heat and burn . Dry then apply a burn cream.That way you hopefully, won't blister or scar.❤

Thank you!! Haha I’m glad you got a kick out of the cat photo. I figured it was more fun than blurring! ☺️ Thank you so much for the burn tips! I’m very accident prone, so I’m sure they’ll come in handy!

You are so lucky that you have a smaller bust! So all low back tops and dresses look great on you! Your style is nice and relaxed. I'm very tempted to continue watching your video, but I MUST get on with some chores too. Just saw you wear the puffy sleeve green check top again! Love that style! I'll have to make it for sure! 😊

It really took me a while to appreciate that aspect of my body, but now I finally do for the same reasons you mentioned! I recognize now how convenient it is to be able to go braless without any discomfort, and it allows me to wear backless and deep v necks without having to think much about it. There are absolutely plenty of things I see that I wish I could fill out and pull off, but I don’t feel like I’m missing out on as much now that I know alternatives that I feel great in. Relaxed is a great way to describe my style! That’s usually what I’m going for, so I’m happy to hear it comes across that way! The puffy top is too fun! I hope you make one!

I think it's really cool, that you wear a more "fancy" clothes, like the olive dress, on a daily basis! I'm veeery gradually changing my wardrobe right now and one of the goals is that I want to feel good wearing the clothes I like more, not only on a 'special occasion')
@madewithrach

Thank you! Yes!! I love the dresses in my wardrobe, so it'd make me sad to only wear them once a year or so! I feel like for a normal day, I like to dress down my dressier clothes, but in the same way, I also like to try to find ways to make my more loungey clothes seem a little more polished too. Just trying to get the most wear out of my whole wardrobe! Thanks so much for watching!

I just came across your channel and I’m convinced I need to dive into sewing clothes for myself. My original plan was to make clothing for my daughter and I will stick to that plan. BUT This just seems so fun and curated and I love your style! I’m also impressed with how many different fabrics and patterns you’ve used. All of this seems so daunting but clearly it can be done! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos :)

Oh you totally should!! I love making clothes for my daughter too, but she grows so fast and stains all of them, so I try to not get too precious about those projects! haha I've more recently been sewing easy play leggings and sweatshirts for her, just knowing she's going to destroy them, but its so fun to see the joy she gets out of wearing fabric she picked! When I spend forever making a garment for myself, it's comforting to know that I'm full grown (for the most part haha) and generally make most of my food into my mouth at mealtimes! 😂 Sure it's fun to make little things for the kids, but you deserve to have some of your own beautifully handmade clothes to show for all your work!

@@madewithrach you’re so right! I totally agree as well! I’ve made a handful of items for my daughter and some pjs for my son. It’s been so much fun playing around and learning but I do think it would be really rewarding to make something for myself. It’s on my to-do list for sure! In the meantime, I’ll keep getting inspiration from you. I love all of the makes you end up with. The patterns you choose are perfect!

Everything turned out so gorgeous! The pattern matching on the cropped shirt is brilliant. I was nervous when you were cooking in your green satin Hallon dress without an apron, but you clearly have not-getting-oil-on-your-clothes skills that I do not possess 😄

Thank you!! Oh gosh I didn’t even think about cooking in it! 🤦‍♀️ I have a couple aprons and always forget to wear them. Haha I wish I really had the not-getting-oil-on-your-clothes skills you’re speaking of, but I really don’t! I’m constantly getting oil on myself, so I was for sure taking a risk. I’ve learned that spray and washing with 409 works wonders though! 😂 Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
