I found those vegan sausage rolls get rather dry when reheated in the oven, it's like they can't handle the reheating process, if you buy it from instore and eat it warm straight away, it's not too bad on dryness.

Not a vegan, but I love the V saus rolls, fresh warm they are not dry, if I have one cold I just bang it in the microwave for 40 seconds it kind of steams it back to life🤣

Pretty much every other meat substitute I've tried has been absolutely disgusting, I'd rather just have actual vegetables, pulses etc. That being said, the Greggs vegan sausage rolls are surprisingly nice. Definitely on the dry side though, they benefit hugely from a tin of beans to go with them (which I would often do with a real sausage roll anyway).

When those vegan rolls were revealed i would not have thought sausage roll. My first thought was oversized mcds pie or a hot pocket breakfast version. To be fair im from america and i have never seen a sausage roll like mike j eats.

The vegan sausage rolls tasted 'too dry' because you put them in the oven.. When I ate meat, I tried both the meat and the vegan rolls and thought the vegan one was delicious, but then again, I didn't re-heat it in the oven ';D Also yes! It's proven that vegan food fills you up more, because fruit and vegetables fills you up more than meat or dairy, as a lot of vegetables equal the same amount of calories as a small amount of meat! P.S. your cats are adorable and I hope Basil is all ok

Hi Mike, always love watching the Week on videos. I'm sure these are all videoed and edited well in advance but if you can try this again you can go to Iceland and get a lot of the products to cook at home, might save you some hassle!

They're not really the same though, very close and i do like them but the store bought ones do just taste a little nicer, imho. Who know's maybe it's that thing when a sandwich made for you tastes better than one you make yourself or maybe they're actually different in the store. Either way i'm not sure it would really fit the spirit of a week on if Mike just bought a load of stuff in from a store and cooked it at home rather than going to the actual shop to buy it each day.

It's possible you're bloated from the vegan sausage rolls because some people react to the mycoprotein in Quorn (pretty sure they're Quorn). I had to stop eating Quorn for that reason.

Well there ya go! Second day of food and I've been proven wrong. There seems to be vegetable dishes to be had at Greggs. I know that eating food high in proteins will help you feel fuller longer, hence why it is recommended to have something like lentils, soy, nuts or beans when you have a vegan meal to feel more satisfied. I guess if you eat a lot of pastry, you might feel quite full too. ;) I'm a little sadden to hear that you couldn't really taste the sweet potatoes in those bhajis, since sweet potatoes are amongst my favourite vegetables. Curious to see more variety of products still to come.
